A famous Thai hotel chef who had just left a pub in Pattaya, according to his friend, died after he fell off his motorbike.

An investigator, Pol. Lt. Amornthep Petchtim from the Pattaya police station, was notified of a fatal road accident at 1:30 AM today, October 10th, and hurried to the scene on Soi Naklua 16 behind Phothi Samphan Phitthayakhan School in the Naklua subdistrict of Banglamung, Chonburi, to help the victim.

The victim was found in critical condition due to severe blood loss from his head injuries. His green/black Honda Wave 125S motorbike lay in the middle of the road and was slightly damaged. Despite the help of rescue workers, the victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries and passed away. No helmet was found at the accident scene, police told The Pattaya News.

The chef at "Frankie's Inn"  Very personable fellow and a sad loss.

Meanwhile 20 other boje accident victims happened same day elsewhere in the Kingdom, and no news about that.  Famous chef, RIP, but big deal about his occupation.  Obviously not too safety conscious....hate to see his kitchen behaviors.  Missing any fingers?

More safety awareness I reckon.

He took the risk, and he paid the ultimate price. RIP

I think what many none motorcycle riders don't understand is that we motorcycle riders mostly are aware of the risk. We can die any day on the road. But we prefer the convenience, freedom and fun of riding a bike compared to other options.

We all will die somehow someday. Some of us prefer an earlier death, maybe by deadly accident, compared to living securely and dying of old age.

RIP

Drinking and riding?

Not certain but probable if he was coming from a pub.

As someone has said already, sober riders rarely fall off the bike.

If they can't afford the 10 baht for a rear bulb how can they afford a helmet.

While riding my motorbike, I was shot 10 times, bitten by a snake, and attacked by a soi dog.....did I die, no?

But, I then fell off my motorbike....................................and died.

Headline makes total sense.

They sold it for 10 baht, and are now saving more on fuel.

RIP chef.

He just left a pub at 1.30 am, possibly intoxicated? ????

The one who taught me how to drive a bike was always telling me ' if you have nothing on the head, you have nothing in the head'

Another proof he was right................

It needs much imagination to find another reason. Very tiny chance of Soi dog, pothole, someone coming in his way...

Sober?  I guess we can assume?

Based on the time leaving Pub?

If he was so famous cooking at a pub or if famous didn't have enough for a car?

Helmet, reason they are required and design the way they are to protect the most valable part of your head the right or unlucky hit location RIP.

Motorbike accident:  Not a matter of if but when.  No helmet= Generally bad outcome.

Famous chef at an unnamed hotel/unnamed restaurant.

Why unnamed?
