Funny no one mentions any real Footballers , I know I,m an :o old Fart, but how about Eusabio, Nobby Stiles and Berty Voigts 2 of the best defenders in history!! Uwe Seeler, Franz Beckenbauer, Gunther Netzer who used to score from the corner flag,centreforward Gerd Muller, and of course Pele, I realise it is a different type of game today , but these guys rate a mention :D Nignoy

Because they were all bargains, there was hardly any money around in those days so its hard to say which ones were best value for money.

I would say Nicolas Anelka for Arsenal. Wenger brought him for pittance then sold him to Real for over twenty million quid. That's value for money.

I'm pretty certain Brian Clough "paid" Cobh Ramblers manager a bottle of Whiskey. He wouldn't part with a transfer fee for him. BARGAIN

Surprised no one mentioned Kolo Toure- been immense for Arsenal I think.

Danny Higginbotham- Stoke signed him for just over 300k- 10 months later Sunderland give us 3 million !!!!! :o
