colinchaffers Posted October 23, 2022 Share Posted October 23, 2022 I have just moved to 3BB fibre (1GPS/100MPs), my WIFI speeds are about 4/500mps, however, my ethernet speeds on my PC are about 100mps since installation, where as my old AIS 300mps package was typically 200mps, Ive logged on to the router and cant see anything that might help, before I call them as anyone had a similar experience. Go into Control Panel, Network, Change Adapter Settings. Left click on your 3BB connection and make sure the Speed is set to 1.0 Gb/s. If not left click on Properties, Configure your Controller (usually Realtk PCI Family Contoller), Advanced, Speed & Duplex, and change Value to 1.0 Gbs Full Duplex. I just bought some CAT 8 cables from Lazada to make sure they were not any culprit, which they were not. CAT 6 is fine. colinchaffers Posted October 23, 2022 Author Share Posted October 23, 2022 Many thannks to all of you, I have Windows 11 so the change to the adpators was different, but I found a video on YouTube, but it made no difference, and I was thinking it cant be a bloody cable, and when I switched it out it sprung into life 900MPS. KR Colin Turning your router off (de-powering in modern talk) can change the speed. Oh yes, turn it back on first.
