Hmunker
Hi All This week will try and open first Bangkok Bank account.Maybe next April /May could be out of Thailand for maybe 4 months.Would the no use of the account be a problem for that length of time or is there a known length of time for inactivity that Bangkok Bank doesn’t like? Popular Post Crossy
Nah, 4 months is no issue whatever. Usually, so long as there's a +ve balance, the account stays open. Any fees are deducted from the available balance and once that gets to zero the account is closed (it may still be possible to revive it even then). 2
Liverpool Lou
As Crossy wrote, just make sure there are some funds in the account, even just a few hundred to cover ant possible charges such as the annual card fee. BBL has no activity requirements unless an account becomes obviously dormant with no movement for a number of years. Popular Post Sophon
Bangkok Bank has a 50 Baht per month management fee for accounts with a balance of less than 2,000 Baht and no user initiated activity for more than one year. The 50 Baht will be deducted every month, and when the balance reaches zero, the account will be closed. So just keep the balance above 2,000 Baht or make sure you use your account at least once a year, and you will be fine. 5

The last i heard was 300 instead of 200 for annual fee for ATM card use.

You have a balance of less than 2k baht and no activity for a while? No - then doesn't apply to you. 1
