Thai Rath went to investigate after a mother posted CCTV of dramatic moments when her son was choking to death after eating an "Eyeball Jelly" sweet.

These are large candies of bloodshot eyes very popular with children.

Fang Wipha said on Facebook that she was in a panic and never thought this would happen to her and her four year old son who turned green before the sweet went down.

Wipha Phanuroj, 31, in Chainat central Thailand, said that she had bought the jelly after her son pestered her to buy it.

He was only saved by the quick actions of her elder brother and husband who had seen videos about what to do when people choke on food.

She called on all people to educate themselves about ways to help people with things stuck in their throats and parents to monitor their children carefully.

Lest they lose their little ones.

Sounds like his eyes were bigger than his belly...

Perhaps the astute warning issuing Mother should teach her offspring on the benefits of mastication, before swallowing.

Very popular.

Our daughter got a wierd rash around her mouth after eating one.

No more eyeballs for our family.

One of the biggest choking hazards for children comes from eating Bananas. You rarely hear of that threat.

Only in Pattaya...
