robwood12
Hi there, I'm trying to get a yellow book from Wang Noi district office, I am married to Thai citizen and we were married in Thailand They are asking for the following documents and won't provide the yellow book until I can provide them: 1) A document confirming that our marriage is legal in the UK. 2) A document showing my residence in the UK. Can the embassy provied these documents? The person working in the district office has shown me equivilant documents from the Loas and Polish embassies. Many thanks advance for any information you can provide. Rob

robwood12
Hey Soi3eddie - thanks for the reply. I don't have a UK marriage certificate because I got married in Thailand. The main issue is that they want these from the British Embassy, translated and authorized by the Ministry of foreign affairs. Thanks - Rob
howerde
A Thai marriage that has been registered at an Amphur is legal in the UK . you do not get any certificate or any other paperwork to say so, the embassy can not issue anything as there is nothing to issue. i can not see what youR residence in the UK has to do with the yellow book, perhaps their motive is something else! on second thoughts are they asking for the affirmation for marriage that you get from the embassy before you get married? then is translated and stamped by MFA Edited November 10, 2022 by howerde
robwood12
Hey Howerde - thanks for the reply. Your thoughts are exactly the same as mine, and it's incredibly frustrating. No, we've already shown them the affirmation of marriage and that just confused them more because it says that i'm not married on it, which is precisely what the document is meant to say. Ho...hum, this is going to be fun ????
