No shortage of money here ... would be nice to know how many of these cars were EV's ...

I would not buy a new car with a combustion engine anymore ... next year a few nice electric vehicles will come to the thai market ...

Either there has been a 17% raise in road accidents and the insurance companies are paying out money like crazy, OR the debt of the public just went through or is getting near the 100% mark

When you are up to your eyes in debt, Thais will convince their neighbours they are solvent by buying a new car.

Keeping up with the hi-so Somchais.????????

I read an article in a newspaper out of BKK a short while ago that a bank had just announced they had lent Via Loans to people with" NO Banking History or inadequate Banking History ", a total of 2,900 Million Million ( whatever that equates too ) .

That sum sounds like a lot of money to me

They quoted such people as being street vendors Etc, who had showed a determination and willingness to repay the Loans !!!!

Are these Banks so desperate to lend Money, they have to lend on these kind of criteria

Its Insane, and cannot possibly have a good outcome
