Leaving country on day visa expires?

Featured Replies

Hello friends
My passport is stamped until 22 december,
I want to leave on a 9:25pm flight on the 22 December,
Am I overstaying? do I need to be out by the 21st of December or do I have until 11:59pm on the 22nd of December
Warm regards ☺️

As long as you go through immigration prior to midnight on December 22nd you will not be on a overstay.

You'll be fine, my visa expired on the 30th October but my flight left @ 0.15 am on the 31st of october, but because i went through immgration @ 22pm on the 30th i had no issues!.

@wannabeamonk @ubonjoe afaik it's always been one day grace when exiting by air.  Has this changed.  I appreciate the OP was asking about exiting on the date his visa expires but it might be of interest.

It has not hanged if leaving from either airport in Bangkok. Other airports with international flights might not waive the overstay fine.

As long as they are not using the Buddhist calendar at the airport?

They do not use it.
