Scott
A drug "super cartel" that controlled about a third of Europe's cocaine supply has been dismantled, police have announced. Dubbed Operation Desert Light, 49 people were arrested across six European countries, the EU's police agency, Europol, said. They included a British national, who is suspected of heading the operation. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-63781424
Popular Post SunnyinBangrak
High time they legalize that garbage. Most of the problems to society it causes come from it being expensive, thus addicts engaging in criminality - oftentimes violent- to fund the habit. Plus the pure substance is not particularly physically harmful/toxic unlike ethanol. Legalize it. Ensure 100% purity. Add on a bit of tax. Robert's your fathers brother. I don't like drugs, and I agree. Some time ago I read an interview with a high-ranking police officer in the UK who just retired. He talked about a huge drug bust. Then the reporter asked him what difference this will make, and the police officer replied: Now drugs will be for some time more expensive on the streets and because of that there will be more crimes from people who "need" money to buy drugs. So much for the meaning of success. 3 1

I am leaning toward agreeing with you. I don't know the best course of action, but it is very, very clear that the current situation is largely untenable. We spend Gazillions on chasing drugs, but to little avail. We arrest people for possession, and they end up with criminal records and are unable to find employment. If the drugs don't ruin their life, the legal consequences do. Addiction is really a medical problem and is best moved out of the criminal justice system. 2

If someone is drunk and drives and maybe crashes into someone else that is a law and order issue. And the same is true for someone who drives under influence of drugs. Taking drugs somewhere in a safe environment shouldn't be an issue. 1

Correct, drugs or alcohol stay in your system for a certain number of hours having a bong at night-time and driving a car next morning you are asking for trouble

There are a lot of medical conditions that affect driving, epilepsy and other seizure disorders is just one. When the legal system may retain control, but unless there are contraindications, they should act as an overseer of the medical treatment.
