Pattaya — Two men were shot and injured after an argument in Pattaya turned into a violent brawl.

Legal officers and rescuers rushed to stop a street fight that broke out behind Mueang Pattaya Eight School on Pattaya Second Road today, just a few meters from Walking Street, December 1st. At 3:46 AM, the officers arrived to find two men, Mr. Tontrakarn Phasuk, 22, and Mr. Disorn Tokhan, 24, lying on Second Road in front of a hotel and Indian restaurant, bleeding heavily.

Multiple witnesses, including several Indian tourists, were nearby shocked over the incident in a major tourism area. Tontrakarn suffered a deep cut to his head and one gunshot wound to his right arm, while Disorn suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh.

If the places had closed at 2am, this would probably not have happened at 3.45am.

"Several Indian tourists, were shocked".

There were probably just Indians strolling around in large groups.

It is not a family resort, it's where the dregs of Thailand meet the **** of the world.

Plenty of decent law abiding folk live here.......

Of course... but Neeranam is still not wrong, if when referring to Pattaya he means areas of Pattaya such as Walking St. Soi 6, So Buakhao etc...

These specific ‘areas’ of Pattaya attracts the type of Thai and foreign characters we read of in the  news such as this....

The rest of Pattaya is of course just like anywhere else in Thailand with a higher than average foreign population.....  but its still a stretch to call it a ‘family resort’.

I know anything can happen anywhere... I recall reading of a a story where an expat living in Pattaya was driving outside Big (one of the main roads in Pattaya) and there was a gun-fight in the carpark across the road - his daughter in the back-seat (car seat)...   a bullet penetrated the door and hit the metal buckle of his child's carseat...  I recall reading that this trigged him to leave Thailand....

When things kick off in Thailand, it does so with a total disregard for anyone else around....

That said, in the UK we’ve had some crazies over the time (indiscriminate knife attacks / car attacks)... In Bangkok we’ve had a few Bombs win the past (Erawan).

In area’s of London and area’s of Bangkok, area’s of Pattaya, Phuket et...  I try to avoid with my family - because of those these area’s attract.

The rich tourists will be flocking here.

from the article:

Quote

Tontrakarn told police he had an altercation with a second group of men earlier at an unnamed pub over giving him a “wrong look” and had challenged to meet them here to settle the dispute.

Why on earth would one actually go to some place to "to settle a dispute"...?

...to see The Wild West Shows on every night at a venue near you. Entry is FREE.

Is there a difference between Legal officers, police and law officers? Must admit I thought they meant law officers but it must be the translation I guess.

UPDATE: Shots fired at two injured victims near Walking Street turn out to be friendly fire shots after suspect surrenders.

Think if I told most of my UK friends I'm  going to go and live in a country run by the military and most people appeared to own a gun, they would think me insane

This looks like a dress rehearsal for "The Mummy".

Quality Locals

That's what happens when the cops go around closing Walking St early before 3am, like they did yesterday. Shootings and stabbings. Just let the people enjoy Walking St and you won't have this type of violence near there.

They should feel lucky.  They got to experience the "real authentic Thailand" that everyone talks about wanting to see when holidaying there.  With front row seats!
