Popular Post webfact Posted December 4, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2022 Deputy National Police Commissioner General Surachate Hakparn or Big Joke assured reporters this week that this extensive case was being pursued without political interference. by James Morris and Son Nguyen Already police have confirmed that ฿4 billion in assets have been frozen as a result of the investigation which was sparked by a huge drugs raid in the Sathorn area of Bangkok in the early hours of October 26th last. This week, Mr Chuvit Kamolvisit also explained the mystery of the Chinese businessman with a high-powered office and car styled as an embassy vehicle with a bogus police entourage and his links to the network. Former Bangkok politician and popular underground figure Chuvit Kamolvisit has revealed that the Chinese ‘grey money’ criminal network was involved in the operation of Thai language schools with which to facilitate newly arrived Chinese nationals in Thailand with visas or to provide visa extensions to those already living in the kingdom. Mr Chuvit promised more revelations into external links between the gang and drug trafficking activities outside Thailand at the highest level. At the same time, police raided dozens more properties to execute search warrants while the number of people for whom arrest warrants have been issued has risen to over 102 with Police General Surachate Hakparn signalling that the case was 90% complete although it is understood that the work of the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) will take some time to understand the complex network of Thai registered firms controlled or linked to Mr Chaiyanat Kornchayanant or Mr Du Hao, the key player, at this stage, in this unfolding story. Run the language schools [Chinese education in Thailand] bring in Chinese nationals, give them false jobs/offers of employment and supporting documents, get them immigration approval and then carry on with all their corrupt ways of doing business. 2 2 2

Yes indeed, the Chinese seem to be into everything, property scams, school scams, visa scams, even barbershop scams? Where will it end I wonder? 2 1
John Drake Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 FWIW, a lot of Thais are worried about Chinese infiltration and annexation. Quote The prosecution of naturalized Thai businessman Tu Hao, aka Chainat Kornchananand, who is charged with drugs dealing, and multiple raids of his glitzy real estate and other assets estimated at 5 billion baht at various parts of Thailand over the past ten days have made many Thai anxious again that Chinese businessmen, particularly the grey business type (and China) are swallowing up Thailand, reducing the kingdom into a mere economic vassal state of China. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/opinion/2022/12/04/opinion-growing-anxiety-about-the-rise-of-china-in-thailand/ 1

Even in our mooban in the middle of nowhere several Chinese nationals working every day when their visas do not permit, one claiming a Thai is the father of her kid for a visa, they all own houses and somehow manage to buy chunks of land. One claims she bought a Thai ID for 200k.
Artisi Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 must be a massive misunderstanding, Mother China would never allow it ????
Photoguy21 Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Thailand needs to get wise to the Chinese and how they operate or they will find the Chinese pretty much rule the country. 1

The student visas merely enabled the crooks to stay here another year to engage in their criminal activities.

When the Russian were thick on the ground here before the Ruble collapsed all the the Russian whores working on Bangla road were on student visas. This is not some new inovative visa scam thought up by the Chinese....

I acknowledge I used the term work/employment... that was my mistake.. however the student visa [as such] was bogus and the recipient had no intention of being here to study.

How is this different from the "accepted" method of using agents and dodgy language schools to bypass immigration regulations to secure visas and extensions for those who don't meet the published requirements? The only difference I can see is them operating their own schools and cutting out the middlemen. 1
Khyron Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 It is interesting that all of a sudden, it seems that the Chinese are under the microscope. Is it the CCP wanting its citizens back in China under its control, and asking The Thai gov't for help? Or is Big Joke really doing something worthwhile?

Many on this forum have expressed repeatedly and rightfully so about the eventual takeover of LOS from the CCP. In fact, it started with the first king of the current dynasty, he was the one that encouraged the Chinese esp. the men to come and settle in Siam. He " believed" that your average Thai weren't the smartest bunch and needed them to be mix with the Chinese blood who he thought were more intelligent and business savvy compared to his subjects. They heard his call alright and boy did they come! Flash forward 300 years later, and here we are where the overwhelming majority of the Hiso, billionaires, entertainment personality, political heads, captain of industries, etc. in LOS are Chinese descent. If the last figures are correct, outside of mainland China, Thailand is home to the biggest Chinese diaspora in the world, 11 million alone claimed Chinese heritage and we're not counting the mixed Thai/ Chinese ones. To say the Thais are worried about Chinese infiltration and annexation brings to mind the idiom, "There’s no point in closing the barn door after the horse has escaped!" 1
