Daily News Thai Caption: Dead..

Daily News reported that vets caring for tiger cubs seized in an illegal animal raid were distraught after one of the cubs died.

Chief of the Office of Conservation Area 9 Chaiwat Limlikhitaksorn said that vets - especially those drafted in from Ubon Ratchathani - had done everything to try and save "Kham Daen" (Border Cross) a male cub.

The cubs were seized on November 15th.

A vet said that an xray showed the cub had a lung infection probably brought on by the cold weather.  Its stomach was also bloated with gas and he had clearly been in great pain.

An autopsy will reveal the precise cause of death.

Meanwhile the other three cubs, two females and a male, are being put on a stricter exercise regime and being slowly weaned off too much milk.

There have been signs of bloatedness in these animals, too.
