webfact Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Daily News Thai Caption:Just like the real thing! Daily News reported that Region 2 police under the command of Pol Lt-Gen Itthiphon Itthisanchai and the Surat Thani provincial police arrested Nawat or "Et" Singhawak, 54 on a warrant for possessing and trading in foreign currency knowing it to be fake. He was arrested outside a house in the Ek Mongkhon 4 housing estate in Pattaya. 759 fake US bills worth 2.6 million baht were found in a Toyota Altis. Picture: Daily News The arrest followed fake US currency widely circulating in Surat Thani in the south of Thailand. There were serious losses at one bank there where the fake bills were exchanged for Thai currency. Nawat admitted to exchanging 99 bills for 373,000 baht in Mae Sot (NW Thailand) on 19th September 2022. He took a cut of this with others involved in the fraud. Picture: Daily News He said he got the bills from a man called Sirimongkhon in Tak and was getting 2.5% commission. Jongjit Janpraphawut, an investigator with the US Embassy, along with other embassy personnel declared that the currency was incredibly close to the real thing and had the potential to cause widespread economic damage and affect confidence in US currency. Others involved in the conspiracy are being sought. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-12-23 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. The above proved it right,so this guy getting caught with fake USA dollar's not so unusually,in the fake currency world. Looking at some websites, they say GB Pound is the most faked.
