ING used to refund atm fees and merchant fees. They dropped the atm fee refunds. You really are ignorant. A 4 baht man.

  • 0 International Transaction Fees: No ING fees for online or in-store purchases made in a foreign currency.

  • $0 ING International ATM Fees: ING won't charge you for using an ATM overseas.

  • ATM Fee Rebates: While ING doesn't charge you, the local ATM operator might. If you meet the criteria, ING will rebate the first 5 third-party ATM fees charged to you each month (domestic or international).

You've just made my point about AI. Thanks.

It's on their website. You really have no idea.

Yet AI contradicts it. Amazing!

I wonder who's right?

I'm right. Been a customer for years. They used to refund the 220 baht fee but stopped. They refund all other fees. You're a 4 baht guy.

I've now worked out, without AI, you might be referring to ING Australia, even though you started this particular bit of thread creep with:

Dutch banks refund the bank fees.

Do you see how the previous comment might ever so slightly make readers believe something different than what you meant?

Signed, the not 4 baht guy, never was but you'd have to read and understand the thread to realise it.

Suit yourself. I worry about 220 baht not 4 baht. Several banks refund the merchant fees like in 7/11 but stopped the 220 baht refund as it was costing them too much.

That might be useful if anyone here was from Australia...

I'm lucky enough not to have had to worry for a long time about the (formerly) 220 baht fee using my current ATM cards, and still hoping you'll realise eventually where the 4 baht entered the discussion.

Indeed, I have one of each, neither of which has any bank charges for overseas/foreign currency transactions. I have used them in many places including both Thailand and Vietnam, and mainly stick to the MBNA Visa card as it has a cashback element too, which likely outweighs any exchange rate differences.

Which MBNA VISA is that? Horizon?

I guess you could apply for a Starling Debit card for a free free Mastercard option.

I'm done here. Not worth it.

It's a legacy card that's not been available for several years now, formerly affiliated with Emirates (airline).

I actually do have a Starling account but was thinking only of credit cards when I posted.

I also still have a legacy Mastercard CC other than Halifax.

My Halifax is still good for another 2 or 3 months so have time to put something else in it's place if a good option arises.
