PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit has forecast the Move Forward Party will get no less than 80 MPs in the next general election.

Thanathorn who had led the Future Forward Party running for MPs in the 2019 election predicted the Move Forward will get no less than 80 MPs or more in the next election, roughly equal to the number won by the dissolved party in the previous one.

Move Forward contestants headed by party leader Pita Limjaroenrat will be voted MPs in both constituency-based and party-listed modes, according to the Progressive Movement leader.

in the latest poll they got 18% and pheu thai 42% (they gained 8% within the last few months).

If that trend continues, move forward will benefit from voters switching from pheu thai, who voted now tactically (against prayuth and establishment ruling coalition).

The problem might be with attempts to disband them just before or after election.

The last time an off shoot of pheu thai was disbanded just a week before election for nominating princess Ubol as their PM candidate. Move Forward benefited from it as they were the only anti-establishment party left.

Shortly after election Future Forward was banned for a 200mln loan from Thanathorn. After dissolution they lost some 20 parliamentarians - some banned from politics, some just switched parties.

There also will be cases of article 116 sedition and similar articles charges thrown at Move Forward the most prominent candidates. That is planned for long time and likely to go. At censure debates they spoke about the corruption of vaccination program, elephant tickets at police, military involvement in rohinga mass graves and the other sensitive issues.

Prayhoot will see to it that no matter how many seats you win you will not form a part of government.  He will devise some trumped up charges, pay off the judges to cancel the party and ban candidates from politics for ten years.  A leopard can't change its spots just as Prayhoot can't change his ways.

I have a feeling that it may not be so easy to do this time.

The older ultra royalist dinosaurs are dying off and the younger less biased generation are growing in numbers.

Prayuth may find that what he wants and tries to do will end up in courts rather than be overlooked like the last time.
