INN reported on a raid mounted at a set of rented rooms in the Phrapradaeng district of Samut Prakan by Region 1 of the Immigration Bureau.

Investigations had led the IB to a two story building with four rented rooms downstairs and five above.

It appeared their target was a room on the ground floor with lots of shoes outside. It was padlocked from the outside and they was the sound of people talking in Burmese language.

They staked out the room and soon two Myanmar nationals arrived. They were later identified as Si Thu Soe, 45, and Chan Myae Ko Ko, 29. They were arrested.

Inside the room were 5 men and two women who were being held against their will.

They were illegal immigrants who had pledged to pay the equivalent of 40,000 baht each to the two arrested men in order to work in Thailand.

They had been held for over a week.
