Retirement Visa Application Clarification

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I’m new here so hello to all, it looks like a wealth of information on these forums.

I would like some clarification on retirement visa application.

So far from what I have found on the internet I get conflicting information to the requirements of 800,000 baht (1.6 million for two us) in a Thai bank account. Do we need just that or 65,000 (130,000 for two of us) baht per month continuous income as well?

This continuous income, does it have to be from a retirement pensions/superannuation or can it be from a rental property rent paid into our home bank & transferred to our Thai bank?

Thanks in advance for any help, Troppo ????

Use 800k in Thai bank account in your name only.

You do not need two non O retirement if the two of you refers to yourself and non Thai wife.

You can obtain a non O retirement and wife(?) Can piggyback on your extension as dependent.

Forget about 65k income method unless your embassy provides income letter.

UK,USA and AU do not.

Thanks Dr & Jimmy.

also when you supply the information needed as to where you live, is it possible to move about exploring all of Thailand with spending six months in different parts of Thailand, is this possible or not allowed,

Cheers.

  • 3 weeks later...

We are going to rent, so we will have rental contract.

so where does it actually state you can “not” change residence?

Can someone point to the laws surrounding this.

If we rent somewhere for six months then need to get out for whatever reason then how can they stop you?

Im sure people have had to change residence for many reasons.
