Employee Shuttle Bus Overturns in Pathum Thani, Injuring Eight
I drove from Ayutthaya to Bangkok yesterday morning, it had rained very heavily overnight in Ayutthaya and Pathum Thani but that didn’t seem to matter to the drivers despite it being overcast and a lot of water remaining. Saw the aftermath of 4 accidents within around 30 kms, mostly rear end shunts in the “ fast “ lane but also a van on it’s side off the highway and in the waterlogged gully at the side …. slippery slope indeed ! -

Living in Thailand Under 180 Days – Will My Bank Report My Money Under CRS & AEOI?
Better to understand what the cars reporting is. Certainly not reporting individual transmittings. Only once a year reporting the value of your account at the end of each year. -

Trump says Zelensky ‘should have never started’ war with Russia
Trump is correct, Zelensky won on a campaignto bring peace to the region, the neo Nazis, Azov and US and other outside intersts had different ideas. Now Ukraine is indebt to US. Its farm land sold off to foreign corporations. Putin controls the mineral rich East. All in all a total F up of his country which was started by Victoria Nuland who was part of thuse that orchestrated the coup in 2014. Nobody expected Trump to win and now its thrown a massive spanner in the whole corrupted operation. Some of us said this from the start but the 🐑🐑 here wouldn't listen. -

Thai Transwomen Expose Bangkok Taxi Overcharging in Viral Video
Yup... usually at night time... I'm charged 200 or 300 baht for what would usually be an 80 baht journey. I think the drivers deserve a little more... and do understand their requests for higher flag-fall rates. BUT... I don't believe for a second that this would prevent them from continuing to rip off passengers, for most of the drivers, its in their 'blood'... the entitlement to 'demand more' is already ingrained... I just wish GRAB and BOLT were more reliable... these services too have allowed Thainess to slip in. I recently waited 15 mins for a BOLT or GRAB (can't remember), who was 1m away (according to the Map)... when he arrived I asked him why it took so long. .... the driver admitted to 'eating' when he accepted the ride.... a perfectly polite and nice guy, but this was just one example of 'Thainess' that I see slipping in... .... Another facet of this 'Thainess' is that once they accept the ride, only then do they find out the destination.... If they don't want it, they don't move and just play a waiting game for the customer to cancel the journey (if they driver cancels themselves so many times they get penalised). The only other country where I witness such behaviour is Turkey - and we all (many of us) know what bunch of lying cheat the the taxi drivers are there - Thailand seems to be vying for a close second !!!.... but then pulls it out of the bag when we do get a really nice driver !!! -

Musk targets Social Security with blatant misinformation
Yes deductions are distinct. However, the stability of the social security funds are guaranteed by the US Government which in effect is guaranteed by the US taxpayers. In respect to your reminder, how about this reminder first; The Social Security Trust Fund is required by law to be invested in non-marketable securities issued and guaranteed by the federal government. Excess funds are used by the government for non-Social Security purposes, creating the obligations to the Social Security Administration and thus program recipients. The current benefit payments are supported by the current payroll taxes. However, once the available funds can no longer cover the benefit payment obligations, the Treasury instruments will need to be sold creating a debt repayment obligation. The excess funds that were allowed to be used for other purposes will no longer be available, resulting in a budget funding deficit. And another reminder, the problem for social security is that the value of the social security payment obligations is not funded by the value of the beneficiary original investment and compounded interest. The debt obligation would inevitably have to be covered by the taxpayers.
