Adsl Down Yet Again In Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi all,

(I am only writing to see if I can gain a sensible answer to why I am experiencing problems with my internet connection where none existed before)

Is anyone else in the Chalong area in Phuket having ADSL problems?

I have a Goldcyber account.

I have just arrived back in Chalong after a 10 day trip to Bangkok (internet was fine prior to leaving) arrived back on 29th to intermittent connections, connects for a few hours then totally out for many hours.

Called TOT & the local exchange and just get the standard Thai bla bla bla, checking etc. No one speaks English good enough to explain what the problem really is is, it’s driving me mad.

I have changed to the new DNS 203.113.24.199 & 203.113.127.199 numbers and still loose the connection.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Regards

Marc

Did you call the TOT line in Bangkok?

They do speak English and have given me sensible answers.

eg. "The fibre optic cable was cut in Chonburi, it should be repaired within 3 hours"

The answer was accurate as well.

Central line is only good for a major outage..

My method is to collect the mobile numbers of the techs that visit.. Arjin especially knows his stuff and can communicate well.

I had a year of hassle with a TOT line that they simply could never fix.. Too much signal loss on the line even tho close to the exchange (rats nest junction boxes etc).. In the end I had to purchase a new line (from a new junction box) and since then its only been moderately awful.
