Popular Post webfact
Sanook Thai Caption: Damage to the hard disk on helmet-cams Helmet-cam footage from the police involved in the shakedown of the Taiwanese actress Charlene An outside the Chinese Embassy Bangkok in January was not deleted. Instead the devices' hard disks were damaged but the data is recoverable. Met chief Pol Lt-Gen Thiti Saengsawang said at a meeting held to discuss the case yesterday that data from three cameras had now been recovered, reported Sanook. He said that a special technical process was used to recover the images. The footage recovered lasts for many hours and he was as yet unable to say whether any of it related precisely to the case in question, namely the moment of extortion. The files are currently being examined and should wrong doing be found it will add weight to the case, said Thiti. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2023-02-04 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. And you're spot on. This was likely one of the weakest excuses that could be given. 3 separate storage devices, connected to 3 different cameras, all got damaged at the same time. If it's so bad, then maybe it's time to check if any of them is working, and if not, replace and sue the supplier. This may have been attempt to just quick format the drive and claim it's empty. Had only there not been any recovery tools to bring most/all data back... 12
Popular Post Elkski
So did he say that all 3 were erased by someone , somehow, for some reason, but by some high tech process they now have some video data? So now we have evidence tampering as well as witness tampering. Hmmm. Sounds like lots of years. Hope those guys give you some secrets. Popular Post smedly
the body cams don't have HD's in any real sense, they have storage and will either be saved at the end of shift or over a network live

Popular Post Drop the dead donkey
Sounds to me like hammers were used. As I doubt they even understood the concept of deletion and formatting! if they did format them and not use them again in any station selfie antics, it would be easily retrievable. Due to the fact that data is still on the drive. It is only rewritable as a unit (recorder). If it wasn’t used again for such things as station selfies, or other recordings afterwards, all the old data is retrievable. Shock to them also… bang on RTP to you’re hole that is getting bigger and deeper. Bang on to furthering the already tainted reputation of Thailand. 2
ChaiyaTH
I suppose they transfer it to some dodgy Windows computer after their shifts, and that hard drive would be damaged (on purpose).

sambum
"...............data from three cameras had now been recovered" Any bets on whether they will exonerate the cops or the lady and her companions? Or will the footage be too blurred to prove anything either way? ????
spidermike007
I have long said that the RTP are highly incompetent. Now, they are shown even to be incompetent when it comes to destroying evidence of a crime they have committed. You could not make this stuff up. They are a highly corrupt version of the Keystone cops.
OneMoreFarang
Imagine those files show all the details when the money was extorted. And then also all the details when (part of) that money was given to higher ups in the extortion food chain. Now that would be interesting. Something like: Here boss, here is your 24,300. I keep my usual 10%... P.S.: Obviously all that is just my imagination ????
