Retirement Visa with no deposit funds - any agents in Chiang Mai or Pattaya?

Hello, is there any Visa agent who could arrange a non-O retirement Visa? I have no savings and arrived to Thailand on Visa exempt entry. From Scandinavian country.

 

Any recommendations for agents and what would be the costs...

The OP is simply asking for Agent recommendations, not criticism or discussion on his finances.

If the deliberate loopholes in the law are used correctly. Anyway, the reason an official prefers you to use a third party is because it provides both you and the official with plausible deniability. You pay an agent (nothing illegal in that) and the agent gets a legal extension for you. How the agent does that is of no interest to you. Anyway, the incentives to the official to waive certain requirements should, if done carefully, breach no Thai laws.

In case the agent cuts corners, and does not use the available legal loopholes correctly. It insulates you further from the process. In the unlikely event that action was taken against the official and the agent, you can still validly point out that you did nothing illegal, and neither did you ask anyone else to engage in illegal activity.

 Even if the whole set-up is illegal, I would not expect anything to happen unless there is some situation like one of the immigration officers, who is being charged with offenses non-related to the agent immigration set-up, decides, for a plea deal, to implicate other officials in accepting 10-15000 baht for a service that costs 1900 baht even if under Section 35 of the Immigration Act (1979) they have the authority to waive requirements under the prevailing Police Order.

I am going to duck out of this discussion. I will just finish by saying that the Immigration Act lists the fees that are paid to Immigration for different services. There is no law in Thailand that regulates agent fees. If your point is that paying an agent more than 1,900 baht for an extension of stay (or 500 baht for doing a 90-day address notification) is proof of illegality, then I think you are mistaken.

I am not mistaken -- it all depends where the amount paid to the agent in excess of 1900 baht and 'reasonable' agent  expenses goes.

Incorrect, I've used agents for the past 15 years. The difference is, I have the money in the bank and don't use an agent to pretend I do.

I've been saying that for years ever since an immigration officer suggested using an agent when I displayed my displeasure for a never ending request for more obscure copies. Easier for all involved. This is after 10 years of doing it myself! Nowadays I drop my pp off at the agents office Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon they call for me to pick up my pp. Doesn't get any easier than that. (1 year extension) Gotta luv the LOS.

1000's use agents it certainly simplifies the process for everyone and is generally supported by immigration.
