webfact Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Picture: Thai Rath General Damrongsak Kittipraphat, the chief of the RTP, appeared at police HQ in Bangkok yesterday regarding allegations that 16 of his men were involved in running online gambling. It is the latest scandal in what has been a testing first six months for "Big Den". The list includes one person being referred to in the media as "General S (ส)". Damrongsak told Thai Rath that he was aware of the allegations and said that some of the names on the list were real and some were aliases. He had put the inspector of police Pol Gen Wisanu Prasatthongosot in charge promising that his investigation would be thorough and quick. He refused to be drawn about "General S" saying the investigation will uncover the truth. There are also allegations about links with the police investigating the Macau888 betting syndicate. ASEAN NOW notes that this gambling/police link is the latest in a long stream of claims and revelations since Damrongsak assumed office in September. His six months in charge have been among the most difficult for any RTP chief in recent memory as his force takes a battering from all and sundry. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2023-02-28 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. It suits those in charge to have a corrupt force turning a blind eye towards their own corrupt dealings.
