Pattaya — An Australian man sustained head injuries after getting into a fistfight, which allegedly started because of a misunderstanding caused by a brief “exchange of looks.”

52-year-old Aussie Mr. Troy Robert was assisted by Sawang Boriboon rescue workers after he got into a fistfight with an unidentified Thai man at the UB Me Bar and Restaurant in Soi Pattaya 7 in the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district.

Robert suffered bleeding and non-life-threatening head injuries. He was transfered to a nearby hospital around 1:30 AM. The Thai assailant in his 20th to 25th year, who as of press time still could not be identified, fled the restaurant after assaulting the Aussie man.

This "tourist" is drunk, covered in tattoos and looks exactly like the type to be looking for trouble at 2am. Looks aside, he admitted to causing the fight by getting in the Thai man's face over nothing (a nasty look). Sounds like he got exactly what he was looking for.

From what ive seen over the years, seems to be a lot of gobby and arrogant sods come over from Oz. Think theyre a tough guy and play the hard man, get in your face after a skinful (not all, as i have many good aussie friends)but these lot should stay at home. As for the Thai, im surprised he never came back tooled up or mobbed up

I'm in Shilokvilleaphomsuhaiket, a town of 190 people and enjoying the sounds of the temple!!!!!!

Fistfight in Pattaya.......................of course!!!!       Fistfight in prison................really?   same, same.

The foreigner, aged 52 has apologized to the police admitting he was intoxicated and started the argument.
Mr. Robert apologized to the restaurant owners and staff for the incident.

Probably should have stayed home and watched a movie, can't handle his grog................

Frankly, I'm surprised that there aren't many more fights are happening in that area where all sorts of people are mingling about there and i mean ALL sorts of people.

There are a lot more shuffles or fights going on now.  Just too many drunks and arrogance.  Most are not reported.

It appears as though the Australian gentleman has been put in his place . Ten points to the clear winner and 10 points for the loser to apologize  for his folly .

Looking at that picture, they should have pixelated his tattoos instead of his face. I am sure people will remember those tattoos.

Only people out at 2 am are drunks - or people never been here before. Everyone knows the best women are gone by that time

Exchange of looks? I've no doubt the Thai was admiring the Oz's body decoration for too long. Maybe he had designs on him?????
