DEPUTY DEMOCRAT LEADER Satit Pitutacha Monday (Mar.6) categorically denied the government’s measure to increase the monthly pay for all village-based public health volunteers is primarily designed to woo votes.

Satit who concurrently performs as deputy public health minister confirmed his agency has planned to raise the monthly pay for all village-based public health volunteers nationwide from 1,000 baht to 2,000 baht effective in October.

The deputy Democrat leader said the measure which is very likely to pass approval from the cabinet tomorrow is by no means designed to boost popularity among those volunteers for a certain coalition partner in the current run-up to a general election.

Hmmm seems to me the word volunteer means do the work without any compensation.  "Volunteering is a voluntary act of an individual or group freely giving time and labor for community service. Many volunteers are specifically trained in the areas they work, such as medicine, education, or emergency rescue. Others serve on an as-needed basis, such as in response to a natural disaster. Wikipe" "... a person who does something, especially helping other people, willingly and without being forced or paid to do it: Cambridge Dictionary"  ex."The health clinic is relying on volunteers to run the office and answer the phones."

Of course not... just coincidental timing.

You obviously have NO idea how this payment relates to the OP.

TW (a salaried employee of the Amphor) is the co-ordinator for some 28 volunteers in our Tambon (14 villages).

The payments cover their out of pocket expenses for any number of call outs they get through the month AND there are many!!!!!!
