Thai Central Bank issues new measures to deal with online banking scams

The Bank of Thailand (BoT) has issued a new set of measures, to be implemented by commercial banks, in an effort to deal with mobile banking scams, including biometric identity verification for transfers of more than 50,000 baht, a ban on the sending of SMSs containing URLs and daily limits on money transfers.

Woman Stabbed At Pratunam Market, Later Dies In Hospital

A MYANMAR woman was stabbed five times in front of a well-known department store in Pratunam area at noon today (Mar. 9) and later died at the hospital, Matichon newspaper said.

Prayut Shrugs Off Prawit’s ‘Step Beyond Conflict’ Slogan

Over 1.3 million people in Thailand suffering air pollution-related diseases

About 1.32 million people in Thailand were affected by air pollution-related diseases between the beginning of the year and March 5th. A specialist in respiratory diseases and tuberculosis is warning that PM2.5 dust can also affect unborn children, if pregnant women are exposed to excessive levels of the fine dust.

Chiang Mai property investments under intense scrutiny

According to preliminary investigations, six land parcels in the northern province are thought to have been illegally purchased by Chinese businessmen for the purpose of constructing complexes, General Surachet Hakparn, deputy national police chief, told reporters on Wednesday.

Summer storm warning for Bangkok and 41 other provinces

People living in 42 provinces in the northern, north-eastern, central and eastern regions of Thailand, including Bangkok and its suburbs, are advised to brace for summer storms, which will bring heavy rain and hail to some areas from Sunday until next Tuesday.

Energy Firms Team Up for Production Trial of Bio-based Transformer Oil

All 560,000 hotel entitlements in “Rao Tiew Duay Kan” program fully used

All the 560,000 entitlements for hotel bookings, under the “Rao Tiew Duay Kan” (We travel together) Phase 5 program, have been used up as of 11am today (Friday). Booking began on Tuesday.
