Foreign man dies on visit to Thailand’s tallest mountain in Chiang Mai

A foreign man has died while on a visit to Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s tallest mountain, in the northern province of Chiang Mai. It’s understood the man, whose name and nationality have not been released, lost consciousness in the Doi Inthanon car park after travelling there with a tour group on Sunday.

Govt Urges Companies to Allow Work From Home

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Public Health has urged companies to consider allowing their employees to work from home in response to a recent drop in air quality, which has affected as many as 1.4 million people.

Two park rangers injured in landmine explosion in Chiang Mai forest

Two park rangers were injured by what is believed to have been a landmine while their five-man team was patrolling in the Pha Daeng National Park in Chai Prakan district of Chiang Mai this morning (Tuesday).

Suspected drive-by shooter arrested in Chainat province Monday night

Police in Thailand’s Chainat province have taken into custody the man who is believed to have committed drive-by shootings in neighbouring Suphan Buri province, killing one person and injuring two others.

Gas Station Worker Slashed with Knife for Allegedly Causing a Nuisance

An unidentified suspect slashed a Burmese gas station worker and put him into a hospital yesterday morning, March 13th. The injured workers’ colleagues stated the culprit might have been peeved at the victim for causing a nuisance while intoxicated.

Poll shows most oppose liberalisation of alcohol, e-cigarettes, cannabis and gambling

A network of 12 children’s and family’s rights groups, tobacco, alcohol and cannabis research institutes have disclosed results of their opinion poll, which shows that the majority of respondents disagree with political parties’ policies for liberalisation of alcohol, e-cigarettes, cannabis and gambling.

Cabinet extends 5-baht per litre diesel tax cut for two more months

Cabinet agrees to allocate ฿1.5Bn to refinance about 50,000 farmers’ debts
