Miss Chiang Mai, Chonnikarn Supittayaporn, was crowned Miss Thailand 2023 on Sunday, March 19 at the Central Chaengwattana in Nonthaburi, Bangkok.

 

The 24-year-old model and pharmacy graduate of Chiang Mai University succeeded last year's winner Manita Farmer and will now prepare to represent Thailand at the 71st Miss World (Miss World 2023) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

 

Sakhon Nakhon's Marisa Phonthirat was named the first runner-up while Phatthalung's Arabella Sitanan Gregory finished as the second runner-up.

Yes, I agree. The Thai perception of beauty is certainly very different to mine.

Soft, rounded, pretty features are clearly not considered attractive here.

Nobody expected that response.

All 5 are very pretty. I told the wife she can pick for me.     However they don't look Thai to me.  

It has been known for some time now that those beauty pageants are bent to say the least and that people with interests are deciding who will win and also bets are placed on the outcome so, so much for beauty pageants in Thailand.

I don't want to research this myself. But does anybody of you have a short summary which girls are allowed to participate and who selects them according to which criteria?

I know farangs have a different taste and I don't expect small brown Buriram girls in that lineup. But if those are the best then I have my doubt that many applied for that job.

Even if you prefer the Sino-Thai look, there are still far better examples to be found, IMO.

She could be seen earlier in the day wearing here stylish custom air purifier and nose buds as she was doing some shopping in Chiang Mai.

That's because 2 of the 5 are mixed ( luk khreung) and the rest have had work done. it's been the same old pattern for Thai "beauty" pageants for the last decade or so.  their perception of beauty is more of what they want to project to the world. sadly, when you come to LOS, you quickly see the pageants are just a mirage and reality is quite different.

speaking for myself (my brother and friends included) I preferred the Thai/ SE Asian feature. No Chinese or European admixture. 

The same goes for my taste in for any female in SE Asia. their exotic, natural beauty is what separates them from the rest of the world.

The winner looks like my old barista - and that means just average.

Thanks.  I didn't think the photo in the OP did any of the women justice.  This young lady is gorgeous! 

 

Also, the CMU Pharmacy program is demanding.  She's got brains as well as looks.

I have often wondered whether the beauty of these participants is inversely correlated to their sexual lustiness, not that I will ever find out

If one considers it, really not much of a reach nor a difference between Miss Thailand and Miss Kotoey pageants.

The women pictured are beautiful. Thai women in every way 1000x more soft than western women - especially women with penises

 

Are they the most beautiful (most) in Thailand and Bangkok? Hell, no.

 

That's because there are many far more beautiful women that are engaged and productive lives and not obsessed with being anointed *most beautiful* by committee. Pagents are a hassle reserved for usually professional models and the most vain.

 

Let them enjoy it!! The more beautiful women without penises in the world the better!

There is one requirement which is the minimum requirement. All girls (or maybe not girls) must have at the very least a nose job.

I wondered if they just took a bad photo of them....they are really not that pretty.
