Request info on Savannakhet border bounce

Any personal experience regarding getting the Visa Exempt on returning to Thailand would be appreciated.  I'm seeing a lot of posts about needing an airline ticket to show onward travel. Is this needed coming into Mukdahan?   

Is there any other useful information about the visa exempt run to Savannakhet I might have missed?  I can't find much in the way of details in search.  Thanks

At land borders, you don't need to show proof of onward travel, that's only asked for when flying in without a visa / re-entry permit.

At most land crossings (and definitely Mukdahan) they do not require an onward flight ticket for a visa exempt entry.
