Thailand has been experiencing high temperatures in recent days, something that Daily News suggested was the cause of an incident in Pattaya.

 

A fat, old German man was causing a disturbance on the beach - he was stark naked bobbling about in the sea without a care in the world.

 

The media reported that Pol Maj Phichit Chamhuap responded with a deputy at 6.30 pm yesterday.

 

The cops found many startled tourists on the beach - and a pile of clothes.

 

They tried to get the tourist out of the water for 15 minutes until he finally relented, grabbed his clothes and tried to wander off.

 

The constabulary's patience wore thin and they mounted a "charge" on the tall, large boned man.

He was taken down, told to wear his pants and led away for prosecution.

 

He had been babbling away incoherently.

 

Siam Rath named him as Wilhelm, 63.

 

They had several pixellated pictures of the offender that left little to the imagination.

Sometimes women go nekkid as some sort of protest, they usually work in pairs.  Actually it's legal there (or was, last I heard).  It may make you prefer seeing ol' Wilhem here.

 

I got stuck with a road buddy once, a German as off as this one.  "What can they do to me?  They can do NOTHING!"  He liked to say, and did so often.

Babbling incoherently, naked, fat. It's what makes Pattaya the welcoming family resort the Thai government are always promoting. 

Germans are big on nudity at the beach, in Germany.

 

But here I am shocked. My heart is palpitating. If I had been there the sight might have put me off men forever and my Thai boy would be heart-broken.

50 years ago there were quite a few naked Thai and foreign women on certain beaches. All stopped as the prudes and killjoys gradually took over, not only in Thailand, but in most western countries as well.

I haven't had the misfortune to encounter fat ugly old guys, you must be hanging out in the wrong places, the beach near where I live often has topless ladies that are quite eye catching to say the least.
