Popular Post marcusb
I'm not allergic to bee stings. Got bit back of the neck by an asian hornet (murder hornet) while on motorcycle. Pulled over and fell to the ground, throat closed up etc.. Ambulance came got me drove me to next town where I got a shot. Epi pens were 5000 baht and hard to get at the time. Nurses just filled two syringes, put them in a childs pencil case and asked if I was ok with that, I was. 3

A couple of weeks ago while I was away the mrs was cutting back a big flowery bush thing at the front of the house, She hadn't noticed the hornets nest concealed within, A couple of the bastards chased her into the house stinging her 3 times in the process. 1 on the leg (through her jeans) one on her hand (through some useless woollen gloves she was wearing) and 1 on her forearm Nasty swelling and very very. painful, fortunately nothing like you experienced The nest is still there but I can't see it as the bush is really dense, and to be honest I've not seen any hornets buzzing about, but she's adamant its got to be dealt with, I'm having nothing to do with it, Some guys came out from the local authority recently to deal with a king cobra but apparently no such service here for hornets, <deleted>, This is where it gets worrying , apparently her brothers son , a farmer type in his mid 20's ,is gonna sort it for the princely sum of 100 baht ! Cheap enough , then the following conversation takes place "and how's he gonna do it ?" "with benzine" " He'll burn the house down " " no he won't he's not stupid he won't light it , just soak them in it" " Is he sure it will work" "No " I expressed my concern that the dense foliage may prevent the benzine adequately soaking the nest, but I just got one of those looks obviously I think too much I've managed to delay things but only for the short term, I know she won't let it lie, and to be honest the thought of god knows how many angry hornets reacting to what experience tells me will be a disastrous attempt to destroy their home, by stinging the <deleted> out of anything that moves is actually really worrying. The same thing happened to a mate of mine a few years ago his dog ended up dead ! However an Aussie guy I know came round today, he's had a bit of experience with them, and swears blind WD40 renders them as good as dead on contact, so that my be a safer option or at least a back up plan, I might just buy a tin for the mrs and she can assist Somchai by "keeping him covered" as they say, Whilst I observe the carnage from safety of indoors Bit late for cutting a long story short but , where can I get these "Epi pen" things from? the local hospital? not too bothered what they cost And what did they put in those syringes ?, her sister is a medic so she might be able to sort me out with a bit just in case Has anybody else got any better Ideas? Other than packing myself of to Pattaya for a week whilst they do it

He purchased some sort of "death in a can" that sprayed a jet of a foam-like substance directly into the nest from a solid distance - something like 5 meters. He was able to douse the nest and get to safety long before the hornets came out that far. It worked quite well.

Mark Nothing
I apply urine topically to any bee sting and ingest a mouthful. This eliminates pain immediately. Lessons swelling. And it reverses any allergic reaction. I have been practicing urotherapy for years with truly remarkable results. It works on every ailment I have thrown at it. Youtubers and books have many testimonials of those allergic to bee stings using this method. This story is a good example of having a contingency plan when time is of the essence. I used 7/11 bug spray to get rid of a bees nest on my balcony, sticking the metal spray nozzle through the crack between my sliding glass doors and emptied the whole bottle into the bee hive. The 5% of bees that didn't get a lethal dose swarmed and were really agitated though. Hundreds of them. It took 3 bottles, and 3 sprays. Multiple honey coombs. 1
Dazkkk
My son (12) has nut allergies, but bee stings could also trigger problems. He carries 2 Epi pens (Actually 2 x 300micro ml JEXT pens) everywhere with him, especially when he goes to Thailand. We always make sure the expiration date is well outside of the dates he travels anywhere. He knows how to use them and has been taught that he should use both injections if the first has no immediate effect on the symptoms. He also carries CETIRIZINE 10mg allergy relief tables for mild allergic reactions. We had a friend who kept bees for years and who had been stung many times with no problems, then one day he got stung and had severe anaphylactic shock and collapsed unable to breath. He went unconscious, but luckily his wife found him and administered 2 full 300 Epi Pens before calling ambulance. He came around and was able to breath. They kept 2 Epi Pens at home just for such emergencies. Over Covid there was a severe shortage of Epi/JEXT pens and manufacturers increased the expiration date on certain batch numbers from 1 to 2 years. Now they are becoming more available. If you suffer from severe allergies here in UK these life saving injections are free on prescription from the NHS.
