When 31-year-old hot dog vendor Dirk Frazel heard the news that Donald Trump had been indicted, he "knew he had to do something", so he got in his car.

His destination was Mr Trump's home at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, a five-hour drive from Mr Frazel's home in St Augustine.

The Mar-a-Lago rally, along with a second event held outside a nearby Trump-branded golf course, totalled no more than several dozen people on Saturday, despite earlier calls for protests by Mr Trump ahead of the indictment.

"I heard he was indicted on Twitter and knew there would be people down here," Mr Frazel told the BBC, standing on a bridge near Mar-a-Lago where he was handing out "Trump hot dogs" to passing motorists.

Inside the resort a few hundred metres away, Mr Trump has reportedly been meeting with his advisers and legal team to plan his legal defence against criminal charges in connection with a $130,000 (£105,000) pay-out to porn star Stormy Daniels.

I don't vote Dem or Republican.....as an independent I vote for folks I know can do the job. Unfortunately unless one has money and big backing you don't get far in the big game....that should be changing hopefully. Neither Trump or Biden believe in the written law or the constitution in my view.

He had a hugely successful first 2 years despite the fact that the Democrats had the slimmest of edges in the Senate. You may disapprove of the bills that got passed, but they were big accomplishments. 

I hope Americans make America great again. Please spend all your resources on that task.

Remove your military from the rest of the world, don't tell the rest of the world what they should do to be such a sample democracy like the USA, and maybe build lots of walls on your borders.

Maybe after 50 or 100 years you improved the USA, maybe.

Then you can try to join the rest of the world again.

Until then please concentrate on your country and leave the rest of us alone.

He might hit back with what her vag and knockers look like, probably not as nice as she thinks! ????

Several dozen people is what most people would call far from being a rally, although no doubt Trump in his usual fashion would inflate that number to thousands.

IMO it's an indication some of his fanbase has evaporated.

As I get older I tend to forget things, so I would be obliged if you can inform me when was America great the first time? (Except in it's own opinion)

Can you share with us what your criteria are that determine whether or not a country is or was great? Do you have any examples of countries that are or were great to share with us?
