Muhendis Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 I spotted this news item in the UK news media and thought it might be important for anyone whose passport needs renewal. For the next five weeks the UK passport office will be on strike. https://news.sky.com/story/passport-office-workers-strike-five-week-walkout-begins-today-in-row-over-pay-and-pensions-12848615

Worthy of attention, obviously, but OP's scaremongering is not justified. The entire Passport Office staff is not striking for a whole five-week period! There will be selective strike action continuing for five weeks with only one day when a complete(?), 130,000 staff, shutdown is planned. Time period for issuance of passports remains unchanged at 10 weeks, this would have to be extended if the entire PO went on strike for five weeks. 2

theoldgit Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 We don’t really need another thread regarding this limited strike action, it’s already being discussed in the appropriate forum. This forum is for visas to other countries, I’ll close this thread. 1
