Multiple children were killed and many others were injured after a shooting at a teenager’s birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama, Saturday evening.

 

Dadeville Police, the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation, among others, responded to a building near the intersection of East Green Street and North Broadnax Street at around 10:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting, Fox News and WRBL reported.

 

Although law enforcement agents have not officially released the number of people killed or injured in the incident, photos taken by witnesses at the scene showed “the bodies of at least six teenagers on the ground,” according to Fox News. The witness observed white sheets covering their bodies.

Of course guns kill people.

 

It is what they are designed and made to do.

 

It doesn't matter who is holding the gun, when it is pointed in the right (or wrong) direction it will kill, maim and injure people.

 

If you want to keep the 2nd amendment then ONLY black powder weapons should be allowed, and no weapon made after 1800 to be allowed.

 

Nothing should be enshrined for ever, and even the 2nd amendment is a variation from the original constitution.

 

Make another amendment to the constitution, striking down the existing 2nd amendment.

So by your logic guns are fine even though there are (seemingly) daily mass shooting because, erm, most people don't shoot people? That's the best you have? Therefore no action is necessary.

I can't believe that a country can have so many tragic gun deaths and so many involve children, yet no-one wants to do anything about it. I will never understand that logic at all.

It’s in the republican court they bear responsibility for the criminally lax gun control laws this issue along with others will cost them dearly in up coming elections so be it,I’m predicting a dem supermajority within 4 election cycles perhaps then and only then will this issue be resolved.my apologies if an earlier post offended but that beeing said I find it deeply offensive that the slaughter of our children is allowed to continue we need to get a handle on this.vote out the politicians that refuse to advocate for stricter gun control laws let’s get this done!

Very odd wording.  A shrine is a place for religious worship, made holy by some object or connection to a person.  The constitution is simply a man written document; there is nothing holy about it, and it should be open to being questioned and changed.

Very sad indeed. My condolences. What is the % vote in the US Congress to change the Constitution? Does it have have to go through The House first or is only the Senate involved? The UK has had laws against carrying weapons although in the past that didn't really stop people acquiring pistols etc.

Prohibition was created by an amendment to the constitution. Then it was amended again to end prohibition. See? Can be done.

This one sounds like it was one heck of a melee, with at least 28 injured. That's the most injured so far this year.

The solution is right in front of them and so obvious yet they clink on to a 200 years old antiquated Second Amendment written when the American colonies were obligated to defend a specific territory in the form of the militia against the fears of a foreign power attempting to invade the young country.

Somehow, people in countries other than the USA manage to survive quite well without needing a gun for protection or anything else. If people feel the need to be armed to protect themselves then there is something very rotten at the heart of America. The rest of the world knows that. Only Americans don't get it.

 

As for the right of everyone to be armed being enshrined into a list of rules written 200+ years ago, and which therefore cannot be challenged under any circumstances no matter how many people are gunned down, I wonder if the constitution also upholds the right to buy ammunition. If not, uphold the constitution by allowing gun sales but ban the sale of ammunition and the problem is solved. Simples.
