AN ARMY RANGER was arrested for taking a picture of his ballots after marking them during today’s (May 7) advance polling in Kanchanaburi, police said.

The 35-year-old ranger, only identified as Jetsada, was caught taking the picture of his ballots with his cellphone after he had cast his votes on them at a polling unit in Constituency 1, mostly covering the capital district of the western province.

Jetsada told the police he had had no idea it was against the law to take a picture of a marked ballot and that he had merely intended to keep it as a “reminder” of his first time ever going to the poll, the police said.

How this can be known already. Are advanced polling results made public?
