anyone know who can transport a motorcycle (Honda 400 Bros, so fairly heavy)

from Lamai to an address or depot in Bangkok?

Surat train can, but you cant book it.

pot luck if they can put it on the same train you would be on,

then how on earth would you know when/where its gonna get to bangkok.

whats wrong with riding it, or are you one of those pretend bikers riding around samui with shades on and no t shirt trying to look mean

Posted

dammit! ive been spotted.

but my shades are real raybans.

and ''mean'' is my middle name.

apart from that i cant fit 50kg of luggage on the bike.

and

when i rode it down from bangkok,

i am not embarrassed to confess,

i averaged 250km a day.

now that is slow.......

but it means that i am still alive to tell you how mean i really am..

by definition i am not a biker,

i am perhaps a motorised pedestrian.

yu could ride it. seriously you could do it thai style. find someone with a truck. all the thai labour workers know someone. it is how they carry there stuff from north to south for working. they will take it for about 2000 baht.

can find someone for you if you give me some time

This is an interesting question:

How to transport heavy loads from and to Bangkok?

Would appreciate any helpful comments, but not the style:

"Give it to a thai truck driver together with 2.000 Bahts" :o

no i do it all the time. i have to send large loads of stuff to esan. you should really look into it before you thake the mic out of my idea.

they pack up the truck. or you can pack it your self. you get the truck drivers i.d card and you get a reliable one that other people recommend.

or you can use a company called Delco. on the main road. might be bit too expensive but he rents his lorry out for people that move house. might be a bit too much for 1 motor bike but it will get there. dunno in how many peices though :D

i used them before to move all my stuff to pattayaand back again. had no problems. delco on the ring road in lamui. it is also a kitchen shop and a soffa shop.

number i can get it is n my car though. can get it later

you laugh at my idea but the reason why they do it is becuase they are going to bangkok anyway. also for secutriy reasons. if your bike is rejistered they ain't going to nick it. you also get the drivers I.D card and copy it and the driver truck number.

if the bike is inssured you get your money back if it does go missing and the person is hardly going to nick it becuase his chances of getting caught are too high.

but u anna laugh at me up to you. i have done it plenty of times. you can pack it yourself also so you know it will not get damaged

You can mail a bike through the Post Office believe it or not. I've seen it done several times. Not sure of the cost but it can be done.

Riding it is definately best, I did it a few years ago on a Sonic with my Mrs on the back. Only took about a day and a half. Can have a night out in Hua Hin on the way. Be easy on a Bros. Even the Sonic could do 100K/ hr 2 up.

Good luck

Duncan.

As Stupid as this sounds go to the post office...?

I've just sent a motor bike from Pattaya to Krabi by postal delivery (goes in the big trucks) 1,400 baht and only 2 days

No damage everything 100%

Also if you want to travel with the bike there are buses (just like a big songthaew) that go between here and Essan ferrying the Thai workers and there gear.It would be a great experience as well.Just an idea, but I could find out about it if you like,
