I have a small  tool shed space on my condo balcony  which I could rent out . However I would need
to keep about 50% for my own tools . Any interest ?

There are already loads of weed shops in Pattaya but I see a few new ones opening every week.....At this rate Pattaya will be nothing but bars and weed shops and 7-11s solid on every street...

And massage parlours, there seems to be profusion of new ones too.. some are staffed by very old ladies. Indian restaurants are also very common.....

All will be gone as the MFP are going to reinstate cannabis as a narcotic, according to yesterday's BP.

I would say almost no chance the weed shops will be shut down...Its to late for that...Its just not going to happen....I am no weed lover....I dont even like it..

Personally, I think the number of coffee shops and fruit shake shops/stands are ridiculous.  Cafe Latte 30 baht to 140 baht (Starbucks) Fruit shakes 40 baht to 160 baht.  Yes a NEW fruit shake stand inside Royal Garden mall sells them for 160 baht!  New shops opening inside Royal Garden are great to see, but there are simply very few customers as the mall is pretty much dead except for the 3rd floor Ripleys on weekends.

I have noticed a few weed shops closing or changing names, but more are opening as well.  Crazy high overhead as they do open "stores" with rents likely 30K-40K baht a month.  Am happy they refurbish many of these older places before opening, at least the owners are benefiting from the upgrades these leaseholders do to their buildings

I usually fly to Denver when in the U.S. There are a lot more shops there, by far more. What is pretentiously  ridiculous is the Hyper-inflated price's of the weed. The most expensive in the world. And it is not all that potent either. Most of the weed in the shops are falsely labeled as much higher than they really are. It is really annoying to pay extortion price's for sub-par smoke. The weed is not the only thing I would like to see billowing smoke.

Perhaps they get the opportunity to pay for "special" licenses...

For now.

Online will probably be made illegal.

I would prefer that it was classified as a Thai only industry. At the moment thai wives or proxies are used as a front for foreigners to set up many of these drug businesses. There are enough dregs from around the world already here without another drug to attract even more dealers. I have no problem with stoners smoking dope as long as they keep it in the privacy of their own home.

Chiang Mai has dozens of  pot shops now with no customers in sight. Some appeared to be built at huge cost in high rent areas. The "Fish Spa" boom comes to mind the poor minnows eventually got flushed.  Same fate awaits  the stale dirt weed sold at huge prices I'd reckon.

Yes I have compared to fish spas but those required a much smaller investment and went away because of an "Act of God" -- Covid.

Behind the shops is a huge growing industry with everything needed to support that.

Making the weed business go away would be a much bigger deal!

At this point, I think there will be some kind of weird compromise.

Just looking around town is enough evidence that it's gotten out of hand.

If that map you showed had restaurants would you make the same conclusion? Surely you know you can zoom out, and it won't show Pattaya covered.  You're in error.

Stop gaslighting.

When there was a glut of fish massage, I could see that with my own eyes.

Now we have a glut of weed shops, and anyone can see that with their own eyes.

No need to answer as you're just playing games.

You haven't defined what a glut is nor have you stated how many weed shops are in Pattaya and Jomtien.  Be more precise.

Asking you to provide definitive information and asking questions is not "gaslighting."

Perhaps you wish to debate the meaning of the word you used.  I suggest you retract your statement as it is fallacious on its face.

You should also look up the meaning of the words you use.

Gaslighting Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster

1 : psychological manipulation of a person usually over an extended period of time that causes the victim to question the validity of their own thoughts, perception of reality, or memories and typically leads to confusion, loss of confidence and self-esteem, uncertainty of one's emotional or mental stability, and a dependency on the perpetrator

Your answer is right here, but keep in mind there are more weed shops than on this map.....I would guess 300 plus weed shops in Pattaya....

I would have no problem at all calling this number a serious GLUT of weed shops...

How many pharmacies are in the same area?

How many restaurants? Count food stalls and mobile vendors.

Who determines how many? The answer is profoundly simple, it is the marketplace.  If there are too many, then they will fail due to not having enough customers.

If all of the Socialists that inhabit these forums would just learn about Capitalism they wouldn't bring up the question in the first place.

The market will decide.

Not you.

Absurdity? Exactly what number is absurdity? You never mentioned what a good number of shops would be.

No doubt they're all selling buds at highly inflated prices

Did you mean they will make a profit? I hope they do.
