Looking deeper into the numbers, just 15 people were “nabbed” for overstay.

the rest were not at their reported accommodation, or had already left, or had visa applications pending, and, 109 had died! So no nabbing those 109 unfortunate souls.

the headline is just ridiculous and bears no correlation to the actual facts reported.

My first thought ... hmm, new math.

From May 1 to May 25, Immigration Police conducted raids on 1,550 targeted locations across Phuket . . . while 109 were reported to have passed away.

They're saying 109 foreigners died in Phuket in 25 days of May in Phuket?

Sorry, I'm just not buying that. Perhaps they're inflating ALL those numbers to justify their existence?

Surely these corpses wouldn't have overstayed unnoticed?

I'm guessing they weren't at their reported address when found and will be subsequently fines and deported as well as black listed 555

Shouldnt be that difficult to check.

You have database people coming in Thailand and on what visa.

You have database people checking out Thailand

You have database people working on visa

You have database TM30

You have database 90 day report

You have database TM28

You have database TM6?

And probably some more additional databases.

So software (put an AI in it) could spit out all the over stayers and or questionable stayers every day any day, if so..

Meaning, they still showed on the database as being in Thailand?

Looks like those who are using the database don't have a clue what they are meant to do with the data, or more likely, they don't know what the **** they're doing!

Would guess most the overstayers who have left the country are from Myanmar, migrant workers. Then a chunk of Soviets and Chinese.
