Personally I wish they would stop the sexualization of child performers. But I don't shout about it, I just make a decision not to go to any of those events or change channels if its blasted in my face on TV. I am surprised the right wing don't have more to say on this though, an easier target is Pride I guess, seeing as they are a minority group.

This is about laws and procedures when there is a surrogate birth mother. That varies state by state, country by country. I think in general surrogate mothers do NOT want to be on birth certificates. Surrogacy of course can be done for different kinds of families, same sex, opposite sex, single parent.

STOP IT and inform yourself before repeating MISINFORMATION.

The law was already expanded to the 8th grade and as I've mentioned it actually applies all the way up until senior year in high school in practical reality.

That's because teachers and schools are scared to death that a bigot parent will complain about something not being "age appropriate" which would cost the schools a fortune.

why don't we get major corporations to help fund awareness in countries where gay pride is more of an issue than in the west ? o wait they change their advertising to meet the needs of a country they are selling products too. so any of these so called sponsors of such events in the west are nothing but hypocrites. 

 

in canada no one cares much at all anymore about anything to do with your sexuality or any of it. you can get x on your passport if that's how you want to identify. 

 

lets focus greater attention on places where pride is obviously needed more. i am willing to bet most would chose florida to reside in over say iran.

And why exactly is it so necessary for children to be exposed to these ideas?  There is limited time in the school day and it needs to be used for more important subjects like math and literacy and civics.  Trying to shoehorn in lgbt stuff only means less time for things that kids actually NEED to know.

Nobody is being erased, no need for the chest thumping hysteria.  LGBT people can freely learn their existence and history if they choose.  You look too much to the state for affirmation and ego boosting, and you will be disappointed. The restriction is now up to the 8th grade with a practical reality of being up to the 12th grade as any bigoted parent can sue over anything LGBT they define as "age inappropriate" for massive financial damages. The fascist DeSantis has effectively ERASED LGBT students, teachers, parents, and history in Florida schools and the movement is spreading rapidly nationwide.

As I noted before this anti LGBT DeSantis fascism is so extreme that even an OPTIONAL advanced placement course on LGBT history was nixed by the Miami school district because they correctly understood by doing it they would have been probably been sued by bigots. I don't like that the school district did this but they and all schools in Florida really have no choice -- they can hardly afford the damages from these bigot lawsuits.

No, it hasn't. Nobody is "bashing gays".  Disagreeing over a political or social issue is not hate.

 

If you actually worried about places where LGBT folks can't walk freely, then Florida would NOT be your starting point. It IS a global shame.  Not an American one, a global one.  There are far too many countries in the world where people fact actual persecution and state sanctioned violence for their orientation- but the US isn't one of them.  

 

There are no laws that hurt people, get over it.  Just a bit of common sense to protect children when they are at a vulnerable age.
