Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
Researched it thoroughly some years ago. I soon decided I'm going going to pay for something that I cab not fully own, which also includes a portion of the land it sits on. The Permanent Residency issue was a minor concern, but still a concern. You only get to live in your condo based on "permission" to remain in Thailand. You don't have a "right" to remain in Thailand. Each to their own, just don't use the word "freehold" in the western sense when discussing property here because it's BS. "Bo more" implies you did them in the past. Right? The word "alien" appears in many official Thai forms and documents. -

Marriage Equality Act: Nationwide Implementation from January 23rd
Irrelevant. See https://www.gov.uk/guidance/confirm-youre-free-to-get-married-in-thailand#:~:text=Same sex marriages, outlines the procedures. which explicitly states that the Embassy in Bangkok will currently *not* provide the necessary documentation. (I have also emailed them about this and they have confirmed they are refusing to facilitate provision of the affirmation.) -

Revenue Department boss calls on tax residents in Thailand to file 2024 returns by March 31
Those responses above would be pretty identical to those that I believe would apply in my situation, except for mine being a different home country from yours. Interestingly, the Integrity Legal guy's general advice as listed above is that most people who don't already have one should NOT run out to get a Thai Tax number because of all this B.S., because (in his opinion) doing so exposes the person to potential claims of tax liability that might not ever be raised in the absence of a voluntary Thai Tax ID application filing. -

Another Major Trump Flip-Flop
But what does that tell you about Trump voters? I mean, I have heard and read plenty of stories already about Trump voters having buyer’s remorse. The ‘Farmers for Trump’ who apparently are just now realizing that Trump is going to ruin them, because he’s going to deport half (or all of) their workforce. This ‘family man’ from Georgia who voted for Trump, and his daughter is married to an illegal alien. Guess what’s going to happen to his son in law? So many latinos who voted for Trump and now they’re starting to worry Trump is going deport half their family. So many poor people who voted for Trump, and now they’re scared he’s going to cut their social security, medicare, medicaid and whatnot. And it’s not as if Trump hasn’t been up front about his plans, it was pretty clear to anyone with half a brain what he’s going to do. I really can not begin to understand why these people voted for Trump and are now scared it’s going to come back to bite them in the @ss. Hopefully it will teach them to think a little harder next time they get to vote. If there is a next time…. -

Et tu, Fox?
ARMY? You mean like battle hardened soldiers? Or are they all rapists and murderers and escaped convicts......and BROWN ! Do you know the demographic breakdown of migrants and illegals in the US? One guess as is which nation is represented the most in the last 4 years...... China. People escaping the Middle Kingdom and all that paradise. While I appreciate the need to have some sort of filter system for migrants, it’s best not to forget how much of a part dumb luck played in what you are and where you are. Do you think all of what you are is because of some special skills and talents you have, or just an accident of birth? Those born in the US, especially as a white male, materialized on 3rd base with the pitcher passing out on the mound. Easy to score, relative to the other 125 billion or so home sapiens who have lived since Oldavai Gorge or when Eve had a hankering for fruit. Because you were whelped in a developed and prosperous nation---of which your contribution at the time of your birth was ZERO---you are allowed to move yourself into an alien culture and reside as long as you want. You’ve now chosen Thailand. Good for you. Folks can tell you’re not native, and a good many of them might prefer you go home….NOW. Tribalism does that. It makes us see "others" as bad or potentially dangerous. Frankly, a little humility is called for. I happen to be a multimillionaire and graduated from top universities, an Ivy and Stanford. I turned down Harvard Biz and Wharton for my MBA. Am I special? No, just lucky. I never forget that. Can I say with certainty that some young woman who walked 800 miles from Central America, dragging two kids the whole way, trying to escape gang violence and poverty, would not have achieved far more than me, if she had been born as I was to smart and athletic parents in the US? I cannot. No contrafactual data. Yes, life ain’t fair. At the same time, I understand why the systems each bordered land has established needs to have some means of vetting all those who might want to come. Frankly, if up to me, I’d prefer that woman who walked 800 miles than some beefing, moaning MAGA on SSDI in a Red State, sitting on his bloated butt binge-watching the Kardashians or Fox. I suspect that woman will be grateful and work hard to add value to both her family and society, whereas the SSDI MAGA is a drain, as are the vast majority of Red States. Humility. Empathy. Those are attractive human qualities. -

30 Did-You-Know Questions for those 'on the fence' about the mRNA jabs
Thanks for responding Sir. ''Your comments imply you don't believe in vaccines - nature alone would not have protected you from Polio to Smallpox, Measles. Rubella (German Measles). Mumps, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Tetanus, Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). Yellow Fever etc etc etc..'' If I could comment on the first three of your examples. Polio is not caused by a virus. The illness is not transmissible. Pox is the body desperately trying to rid itself of toxins. The symptoms of smallpox, chicken pox, measles etc, are virtually indistinguishable from one another. But none of the 'poxes' are caused by a virus. And nor are they transmissible. ''There is so much scientific evidence proving the efficacy and necessity of vaccines, if you are refusing to accept medically and scientifically proven facts then there is no more point in entering the debate with you than there is with a flat earther or a moon landing denier.'' There is no scientific evidence to support that claim Richard. As for being medically and scientifically proven facts; well I can't find any. I, and others, have been searching for some considerable time. In my case for over 40 years. You are stating what you think is true. Ask yourself; ''Is it true what people with vested interests say?'' And would you believe them? Only one conclusion. Must ask yourself; ''What are vaccines for?'' Answering that, will go part-way to finding your truth. Did man walk on the moon? Another topic for that Richard. -
