Popular Post webfact
The Mayor of Hat Yai has urgently ordered rectification of unconventional traffic lines on Sriphuwanarot Road. Unlike elsewhere, the lines in Hat Yai veer around obstacles. A viral social media post sparked curiosity and laughter among residents, questioning the unusual road marking practice. Instead of straight lines, the Hat Yai City Municipality opted to beat the lines around metal panels used for raised houses at two points. Shared in the local Facebook group, "Laughing Together, Home, and City," the pictures prompted discussions about risks and the possibility of painting similar lines around parked cars, reported Thai Rath. Picture: Thai Rath After being informed, Mayor Pol. Col. Sakorn Thongmoonee promptly ordered inspections and rectification. The Secretary to the Mayor, Mr. Manop Pengthum, revealed that the road marking was done the previous night with an ill-equipped team unable to lift heavy metal panels. Consequently, they beat the lines around the obstacles as a temporary solution, witnessed by social media users. The Mayor and the team swiftly addressed the issue on-site, removing the metal panels and scraping off the existing paint. Repainting was delayed due to rain, but the road conditions will be reevaluated, and if dry, the lines will be promptly repainted. Picture: Thai Rath Apologies were issued for the oversight and inconvenience caused. The Hat Yai City Municipality is committed to improving infrastructure and residents' quality of life. #news Top Picture: Thai Rath -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2023-06-28 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. ikke1959
Simplicity of Thailand ... Thai people claims parts of roads or parking spaces without permission and the local Government and police doesn't do anything about it.. As here we see even the roadworkers accept the illegal claims..
Popular Post KhunLA
Actually the markings seem sensible to me, especially at night, where you may not see a dark object curbside. Whether object allowed or not is a different issue, but since there, might as well make it well known. 4
Stocky
The resurfacing of the main roads was long overdue. Starting during lockdown Hat Yai took the opportunity of empty roads to install new storm drains, push on with the burying of electric cables, and additional street lighting; so the roads have been dug up several times and were a mess. This is just laziness on the part of a few workers, most of the resurfaced roads have been marked properly. The gangs doing the road resurfacing were able to raise or remove the metal ramps, just the guys laying down the road marking who couldn't be bothered. I could see trouble and possible personal injury if on the motorbike and hitting the sharp end of that ramp. The proper fit is getting rid of the ramp and designing the drive to exit level to the street. 2

tweedledee2
Mueang Surin has road marking like this. There is one street with white lines around where a food vender parks.

Yes, either the home owner or the government. I have been pleasantly pleased to see the increased number of curbs at street crossings being made wheelchair accommodating.
