Staying long term options after having a Non-Work permit for 1 year?

Apparently I can no longer apply for an Ed-Visa as my passport now has evidence of a Non-B/Work permit and extension of stay.

 

The only Ed-Visa I may be able to apply for is the Chiang Mai University (65k visa) which allows you to stay 15 months

 

I am worried If I leave my job and the country soon and try to return within a week by applying for a Tourist Visa it will be rejected.....(I have been staying now in thailand for 1 year already on TR Visa > Ed Visa > Non B/Workpermit). In this case would I be able to enter just on a visa exempt

 

I cannot afford an Elite Visa (600k).......65k for the Chiang Mai visa is also stretching it.

 

What other options do I have?

 

I want to stay continuously as I have a girlfriend here, and I also have an online business which supports me finacially

If under 50 marry the chick as you can't afford a PE visa or any of the other options.

Check your qualification the Long Term Resident Visa 50k for two 5 year back-to-back terms. Unlimited re-entries, 1 year residence reporting, Fast Track exit and re-entry, etc,

Why isn't it possible to apply for an ED Visa again after having a NON-B? Never heard about that.

There may be a misunderstanding here: not sure. The longstanding rule was that a visa and extensions for an informal school was only allowed up until the one-year mark after your last entry into Thailand (with a visa or visa exempt). Maybe, that is the problem, and not specifically a Non B visa. If so, you cannot get a Non Ed visa without leaving Thailand to get the visa at a consulate outside Thailand, but a school (a well regarded one at least) should be able to give you paperwork to support a Non Ed visa application somewhere like Vientiane.

 

However, during Covid, the rules regarding time on Non Ed since last entry were not enforced, and different criteria might now apply.

The Non B, I am pretty sure, is for his regular job, not his sideline.

My post was for when he leaves his current job, and also his Non-B and work permit are not for his online job, so my statement stands.

... and, depending on the nature of his online business and interpretation of Thai law, it may be completely legal, completely illegal, or technically illegal but fully tolerated.
