i am driving down from Pattaya at the end of the month and am wondering if i need to plan for delays or long lines for the car ferry from Don Sak to Samui? a friend told me of long delays last year ( 3-5 hours) but was looking for some current information - thanks

haven't been for 5-6 weeks , however without advanced booking the figures quoted would be reasonable . :o

I did Pattaya - Don Sak/Samui and back again 2 weeks ago and booked the ferry in advance both times with Seatrans 1 way only without problem but you have to pay through a bank of Ayudha account and I think you cannot use any other bank to pay. It's easy to do especially if you get your GF to do it like I did, just call the Seatran Call Centre on 077-251555, tell them when you want to go and give your name, phone number and car registration number and they'll give you a payment number you use to pay for the ferry at any Bank of Ayudha ATM. You keep the slip the ATM gives you then show it at the Ferry departure point. Price was 325 baht for car and driver. just turn up at least 30 mins before time of departure and your on no hassles.
