J Branche Posted July 5, 2023 Share Posted July 5, 2023 Funny story, borrowed girlfriends daughters car and neighbors Chicken attacked the bumper with a bunch of light scratches. Took it to care detailing shop with high speed orbital polisher and they charged me 500 baht for whole bumper. It came out great. NORDO Posted July 5, 2023 Share Posted July 5, 2023 Rubbing compound and elbow grease. Go very, very slow if you are using an orbital buffer. Start with a little dab and work area around the scratch to blend in. To much will dull finish, the right amount will remove scum and increase the shine. However, if the scratch is deep and actually goes through the clear coat into the paint, you will need touch up paint. That presents a problem because the original paint will have faded a bit. Annoying at best, but a repaint of the area usually includes the complete panel where the scratch is present. If not an exotic vehicle or color and has some years on it, finger nail paint sometimes will suffice. Though somewhat noticeable. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
