Trump lashes out at Biden family, media after cocaine found at White House

Why is Donald Trump so angry? | Scoop News | Sky News

Former President Trump on Wednesday lashed out at President Biden, his son Hunter Biden, Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith and the media after a suspicious white powder found at the White House over the weekend came back positive for cocaine.

“Does anybody really believe that the COCAINE found in the West Wing of the White House, very close to the Oval Office, is for the use of anyone other than Hunter & Joe Biden,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“But watch, the Fake News Media will soon start saying that the amount found was ‘very small,’ & it wasn’t really COCAINE, but rather common ground up Aspirin, & the story will vanish,” Trump claimed.

A suspicious white powder found in an area of the White House during a routine sweep on Sunday prompted a brief “precautionary closure” and evacuation of the building, the Secret Service said. The powder was determined to be nonhazardous and sent for further testing, which confirmed the material was cocaine.

Of course Trump is going to comment on this, isn't that what politicians do generally ?, one side messes up and the otherside makes a meal of it and scores a few political points.             Its

Trump should have a little more sympathy for alleged cocaine users. Few possess his ability to rant and rave unassisted by the consumption of powerful and illicit drugs.

Not to mention ILLEGAL drugs.

In the White House.

I am sure many people will try to brush this off as a joke but it really isn’t. People at the heart of our democracy possessing cocaine really isn’t that funny. They need to step up security as this could just as easily have been cyanide.

Another poster who claims is cocaine was the property of people and not just the property of one person. You know this how?

And just who pray tell was in possession of said coke?perhaps you have information you would like to share????or more likely a baseless assertion or perhaps a baseless slur that area apparently is a common area with visitor access.it could also be a plant as the good mr bendeho pointed out a nothing burger

People in the context I used it could mean one or many. I wasn’t claiming either.

It doesn’t really matter how many people it belonged to does it? If I had said “a person” you’d have complained it could have been multiple people.

A bit persnickety…

My point was that its presence was of real concern. It shows a lack of security no matter who brought it in.

seems that went over your head.

In a way, you're right. It doesn't matter because whatever the cocaine was found in was checked in at the storage area. So, it's far from established that it was the property of any resident of the White House or relative. I imagine lots of people access the White House every day. Is Joe Biden or the Biden Administration responsible for the contents of their bags?

I would say the Biden administration is ultimately responsible for security at the White House.

if one or more persons are able to get drugs in there, I would say security needs looking at.

There is no evidence they are ALL at it.

“Does anybody really believe that the COCAINE found in the West Wing of the White House, very close to the Oval Office, is for the use of anyone other than Hunter & Joe Biden,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Regardless of where the stuff came from, I find it quite incredulous that an ex and possible future POTUS can openly accuse the current POTUS of taking cocaine, without an iota of evidence to substantiate his claim. I mean, anywhere else in the western world this would be seen as serious slander and would constitute an immediate apology and/or resignation but are Americans so impervious to this mans' nonsense they now just accept anything he says now? Are identity politics so ingrained now in the US that all civility, honesty and decorum have essentially fallen by the wayside, with one side (as I mainly see it coming from Trump and the GOP) literally tossing around any nonsense or allegation they deem fit without a single shred of evidence to back up their ridiculous claims?

And so many still want this man to be the next POTUS. It really is a sad state of affairs.

I assume they have robust video surveillance which can be used to narrow the pool of suspects.

And maybe they can do drug tests?

if anything this shows an issue with security at the white house. is it not one of the most secure buildings in the world ?

one would think that almost every single inch of the white house is under constant surveillance. should be quite easy to figure this all out.

Unless you do a full body and cavity search of all visitors including staffers and guests then I'm not sure this can be avoided. A small white bag can be very easily concealed.

so could a small bomb.

Pretty sure a bomb no matter how small has metal elements that the detectors would pick up. So what do you suggest to avoid small bags of coke which is what this topic is about?

i suggest better security measures and vetting. there is 0 room for error here. one slip up could have dire consequences.

there are machines that detect drugs. are all belongings checked ?

the same concept applies to illegal guns here brian. criminals don't care about gun laws and some guns are illegal yet criminals get their hands on them.

if someone really wanted to they would and could find a way to get a bomb into that place.

they can print plastic guns now. how would the metal detector solve that problem brian ?

all i am saying is that this shows security needs to be looked at and changes are in order.

Great, install cocaine detectors and address all the other risks you highlighted, then with all the new measures in place prepare for very long queues for all officials and staffers to get into work and for visitors to face even longer queues.

This was a small bag of cocaine, they have security footage, its likely they should find the culprit.

hire more staff to do said checks. is the presidents security not paramount. they inconvenience people all the time when a president or figure rolls through town. why should this be any different ?

its ok for people to face a long queue at the airport but not to get into the white house ?

ok then.

Trump a desperate demagogue bloviating yet again is best ignored.

As far as white powder if it comes in by mail it should always be detected.

But if it comes in via a trusted staff member or visitor what do people expect strip searches?

Ok you'll need a lot with over 6,000 visitors daily to the White house.

I would suggest no, its not ok for the president and other officials/staffers to have long queues to enter their own workplace or for official visitors.

come on brian. you really think i mean that the president goes through a security check ?

how disingenuous of you.

but yes for the 6000 visitors. absolutely. i refer back to my airport comment. why is it ok to inconvenience people at the airport but not at the white house ?
