Republicans erupt over email exposing ‘ultimate purpose’ of Hunter’s Burisma involvement

Republican lawmakers erupted Tuesday after learning about a 2015 email chain that predated President Biden’s infamous 2015 trip to Ukraine, when a Burisma Holdings executive revealed the "ultimate purpose" of Hunter Biden’s involvement with the Ukrainian energy company.

One month before then-Vice President Joe Biden traveled to Ukraine, where he threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid if Ukrainian leaders did not fire their top prosecutor, Hunter Biden and Burisma executives were discussing executing a contract for counter-messaging against any federal investigations into Burisma’s founder and then-president, Mykola Zlochevsky.

"The sequence of events that led to the firing of Viktor Shokin, and the subsequent comments by then-Vice President Biden, raise serious concerns as to what machinations were really at play — and were purposefully concealed from the American people," Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., who sits on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, told Fox News Digital. "No matter how you slice Hunter Biden’s involvement, it screams public corruption at the highest levels and must be fully investigated."

There is a there there after all. Looks like Trump was right again, and they impeached him on false facts and assumptions when the set in stone narrative was that there was no there there. This is looking like one huge mess

Actually, It's already a debunked story, according to the information collected by........ the GOP-led Senate committee in 2020! ????

Just a short extract of the testimony by Blue Star Strategies CEO:

"MR. FOLIO: Of course. What were the specific concerns
that the company--or I'm sorry--the specific allegations
that concerned the company?
MS. TRAMONTANO: Well, they were concerned that
Ambassador Pyatt had singled the company out as a corrupt
company and that Ambassador Pyatt had either stated or
alleged that the decision in the UK court was not valid."

How many times are you going to repeat that falsehood? As has been repeatedly pointed out to you, the decision to fire Shokin was not Biden'sbut rather the State Department's and President Obama's. It was instigated by the State Dept. In addition to which the EU also applauded the move. Shokin claimed he was fired because he was investigating Burisma. His staff said that was a lie. In fact, Shokin was fired for not investigating oligarchs.

The EU not only applauded but also put pressure on Ukraine before Biden
"EU diplomats working on Ukraine at the time have, however, told the FT that they were looking for ways to persuade Kiev to remove Mr Shokin well before Mr Biden entered the picture. The push for Mr Shokin’s removal was part of an international effort to bolster Ukraine’s institutions following Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the armed conflict in the eastern part of the country.  “All of us were really pushing [former Ukrainian president Petro] Poroshenko that he needs to do something, because the prosecutor was not following any of the corruption issues. He was really bad news,” said an EU diplomat involved in the discussions. “It was Biden who finally came in [and triggered it]. Biden was the most vocal, as the US usually is. But we were all literally complaining about the prosecutor.”

You right wingers sure do love corrupt politicians.

How did Biden’s receive $10 million from Ukraine?  Perhaps I should try slaking them down for easy money…

It helped Ukraine, and by extension it helped all countries supporting Ukraine by reducing the amount of aid lost to corruption.

Hunter took advantage of the inherent corruption and gullibility of some Chinese.  If you have the right contacts in China and can convince them that you can pull strings for them then you can also take them for easy money.  Good luck.

Because the allegations about Biden corruption are Russian disinformation.

Recently, a Russian agent was jailed for passing along Russian lies about Biden. Did you miss the news?

Got to give the Republicans some credit.

When they invent baseless allegations they simply will not give up on them.

Imagine if they put half as much effort into serving America.

Odd that the most vocal MAGA members are still trying to claim Joe Biden was corrupt after every GOP committee's attempt at smearing him failed miserably!

FD-1023 anyone? 😆

Ex-Giuliani Associate Shares Video “Republicans Don’t Want You to See”

https://www.yahoo.com/news/ex-giuliani-associate-shares-video-135950451.html

“Was there any specific act that any of these people performed?” Giuliani asks. “Did they get a kickback? Did they get a bribe?”

“No,” Shokin replies.

Shokin was fired in 2016 for corruption. Three years later, Donald Trump and Giuliani started a conspiracy theory that the Biden family accepted a $10 million bribe to remove Shokin to stop a probe into Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company that Hunter was working with at the time. Republicans have also repeatedly claimed that Biden, while serving as vice president, said the United States would withhold aid money to Ukraine unless Kyiv fired Shokin. Both these claims have been repeatedly debunked by U.S. intelligence, the former Ukrainian president, and the owner of Burisma.

But that hasn’t stopped Republicans, including Giuliani, from continuing to accuse the Bidens of corruption. That allegation forms the entire basis of the impeachment inquiry.

The difference between the Republican and Democrat impeachment hearings? Republicans want proof that will stand up in a court of law, Democrats wanted talking points to count in the absence of evidence. Still do, in fact.

If they did , shouldn't they then wait until they had such proof before they started making accusations?
