Sad. To slam into parked truck I wonder how many of the following apply. Drink, drugs, on phone, no helmet

With stories like this, I usually bet the house on one of them....the "phone" option for sure!! Sad but true!!

I wonder if she was wearing a helmet?

was glib really necessary? this girl had died..........she might have a husband here and kids, she'll have parents.........maybe has siblings.....................but you thought trying to be witty was the appropriate retort. Sums up too many of the members here unfortunately.

not with Burmese. Its a sfer bet that someone has been working her like a dog and she was exhausted and trying to get home to her family.

:ermm: I'm puzzled by your post as the photo accompanying this report shows without any doubt that the pickup was parked correctly.

Yes, parked on the motorbike lane.

Officially, by law, there is no such thing. It is there for people to park safely, but it is the norm for motorcycles to use it. Which is sensible. As long as they pay attention, which for some is too much of a challenge.

so if what you say is true maybe she should have been even more careful and wore better footwear.....as you seem to know everything about her as i go by the pic and also the size of that dent from behind is stg insurers know all about in regards to speed.....so stating that no helmet was seen at sight is glib--or possibly fact vs your 'scenario"    some can call it evolution or even how nothing is done as this is a daily occurrence..the lesson is repeated until its learned....fact

look at that pic--in a area with businesses--not a highway and the damage to the bike-truck

speed is obvious--hence the saying speed kills..once again....im not being cruel but pragmatic.

maybe a thoughts and prayers is the correct response as ive heard that one over kids deaths

Perfectly legal if no red curbs/ or signs saying otherwise. It's a lit duel carriageway.

Correct it is not technically a motorbike lane. However it is often used as such and except emergencies parking in that lane is illegal.

Not on normal highways, you can park legally. IMO
