BANGKOK, July 24 (TNA) -The Ombudsman has resolved to submit a petition to the Constitutional Court for a ruling on whether the parliament’s resolution to reject the renomination of Move Forward Party leader for prime minister was unconstitutional.

The office will also ask the court to postpone the next PM vote, now scheduled for July 27 until it delivers a ruling.

Ombudsman’s Office secretary-general Keirov Kritteranon said the office will submit the petition to the Constitutional Court to rule on the legality of last week’s parliament vote against Pita’s renomination after 17 complaints over the issue had been submitted to the office by MPs and people.

Not too difficult to forecast the result of this.

good to hear. It is shameful to try to put someone aside like they did with Pita. It is abuse of power and lack of responsibility too. and Pheu Thai wil not be happy. Senators have to do the wish of the people unless there are severe reason as high treason or so not to do, but in this case just the election of the PM should be not a problem. I hope they will be banned for 10 years too

Nice move. The backwash is building.

Puts the CC on the spot: (1) they have to move fast before next Thursday, if only to say No; (2) they'll have to explain themselves to The People.

Not to mention HM. His birthday and birthday speech are on Friday ...
