The Finance Ministry has collected about 1.95 trillion baht in total revenues during the first nine months of the 2023 fiscal year, beginning last October, which is 136 billion baht more than the target, according to Pornchai Thiraveja, director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office and spokesman for the Finance Ministry.

The Revenue Department has collected about 1.59 trillion baht, representing a 4% increase over the same period last fiscal year and 11.1% above the assessment.

Most of the revenues were derived from corporate and personal income and value-added tax collection, with additional revenues from mobile phone concessions, profits from investment projects and the sale of government bonds, said Pornchai.

I wonder how much of that will trickle down to the poorest and most in need in Thai society?

My guess is not very much....

My thought too. Would be much more interesting to know how much of it, and for what they spent the money. Strange that only revenue is mentioned. Are they out to make a big 'profit' like a private enterprise?

Judging out of the comment above, about party time, and back to the people, just shows how little we understand.

As usual they are very strange in their mathematics again, saying that it is 136 billion more than expected. My question is how it can be over expected when a fiscal year budget is close to a total of 4 trillion or more. Sound like very bad calculations to me.

Yes, and publishing government figures only 9 months into the fiscal year, which appears to run October to September here? Maybe they have the same auditor as TAT? Probably PWC. Book cooking our speciality.

This figure of 1.95 Trillion Baht collected by State Revenue Dept,s  in the first 9 months of the Fiscal Year puts into perspective the massive amount of Household debt, which, as stated only yesterday, stands at an eye watering 16 Trillion Baht
