MFP MP blames corrupt cops for firework warehouse explosion in southern Thailand

Move Forward Party (MFP) MP Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn accused corrupt cops for the explosion of a firework warehouse in the southern province of Narathiwas. As a result of the ongoing investigation, four police officers have been transferred.

 

The explosion at the firework warehouse in Muno Market in the Sungai Kolok district of Narathiwas province occurred on Saturday, July 29. The warehouse was surrounded by local housing making 12 people lose their lives in the incident while 121 were injured, and nearly 300 houses were destroyed.

 

After conducting a further investigation into the explosion, officers discovered an additional one tonne of fireworks in another warehouse, which was only 150 metres away from the explosion site.

Officers summoned the warehouses’ owners, a 42 year old woman named Piyanut Puengwirawat and a 42 year old man named Sompong Nakul, for questioning and charges. The couple promised to meet the investigating officer on Monday, July 31, but they did not show up.

In general if  the cops would only do their jobs, Thailand would be a much better place.

But most are busy with filling their pockets, too lazy to enforce laws, with the results that now it is already uncontrolable. Examples.. Sound pollutions, nothing is done against it. black smoke and overloaded cars... with a sticker they get permission( sticker shows they have paid) let them go. No helmets, kids, and too many on a motorcycle who cares, parking in a curve in the middle of the road or other places which cases traffic congestions, who cares. Speeding cars they drive to fast  for an officer on a motorcycle. Even at checkpoints they check if you paid tax but control nothing else.. too much work and so on and so on. Here the same.. dangerous situation, but the money is more important than the safety of civilians and community

The funniest part to me, is when they stop someone with no helmet, no license, no insurance pay the fine and are allowed to carry on, the bike should be confiscated and only released if you can provide the documents,

Failed to turn up lol. Excuse me would you and your business partner come down to the Police Station to explain why you and your partner were storing Explosives in a residential area? Boss ok be down in 20 mins. Lady boss to partner get your suitcase were off there onto us. Even if there arrested money will be passed and they will start up somewhere else.

Could have been worse. This could happen and will happen if  fireworks or Materials to make fireworks are stored close to Residential areas.
