Trump attacks ‘delusional’ Pence over key role in election indictment: ‘Gone to the dark side’

Donald Trump attacked Mike Pence as “delusional” days after the former vice president was revealed to play a central role in the latest federal indictment against him.

Mr Trump appeared to be trying to do damage control on Truth Social after he was charged with four federal charges related to his alleged conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election and the subsequent attack on the Capi

“Liddle’ Mike Pence, a man who was about to be ousted as Governor Indiana until I came along and made him V.P., has gone to the Dark Side,” Mr Trump wrote on Saturday.

The statement appeared to be in reference to Mr Pence’s more recent outspoken condemnation of Mr Trump’s behaviour leading up to the 6 January riot.

“I never told a newly emboldened (not based on his 2% poll numbers!) Pence to put me above the Constitution or that Mike was ‘too honest.’ He’s delusional, and now he wants to show he’s a tough guy,” Mr Trump added.

The ex-vice president and 2024 candidate has begun selling merchandise that says “Too honest” – something Mr Trump allegedly told Mr Pence after he refused to engage in a scheme to unlawfully decertify election results.

Then in a statement released after Mr Trump’s third criminal indictment, Mr Pence said: “Today’s indictment serves as an important reminder: anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be President of the United States.”

V.P., has gone to the Dark Side

Isn't it like a Sith lord to accuse someone else of being a Sith lord?

Don't you hate it when people use pop-culture references they don't actually get?

I disagree! It was the height of delusion to hitch his wagon to the Trump train in the first place.

He is a white nationalist, pure and simple as that. Not all 45 supporters are racists, but all racists are 45 supporters.

This cornered rat is feeling the heat and has come dangerously close to putting himself in shackles until his trial. The judge specifically warned him about threatening witnesses, and this is textbook nose-thumbing at the judge. If it were ANYONE else performing these incredibly stupid acts, they'd be behind bars cooling their heels.

Darth Vader personified accusing Mike Pence of having ‘gone to the dark side’. You really can’t make this up. Hope the judge will follow up on her warning and throw Trump in jail for violating the terms of his release.

I honestly think she will give him one last chance with an extremely stern warning in words of one syllable or less. He will then step right outside the courtroom and violate that warning. He's just like a child who you warn "don't touch that wet paint!" and the stubborn, spoiled brat sticks his pinky finger gingerly on it to see if you'll react.

And then vehemently deny that he touched the paint, and complain that he’s being framed, even thought there are tons of witnesses and there is paint on his fingers.

Meanwhile, Trump’s deranged cult followers are once again screaming ‘hang Mike Pence’.

The lack of judicial action proves just how rotten and farcical the US judicial system is that the traitor Trump has not been immediately arrested and jailed for this action.

Thank God I an not a Yank. My home country has much to be ashamed of but by comparison to the murderous, racially vile, treasonous nation that is the USA we are choir boys by comparison.

If not for the Jan 6 committee holding the DOJ's toes to the fire, I doubt we'd be having this discussion. It finally became so painfully obvious that 45 had really crossed the line that Merrick Garland HAD to take some action. THAT sumbich is certainly not on my Christmas list.

Yea let’s just think about that alternative for a sec. Ok?…….experience trump (trust fund baby bilko artist failed business man)experience Hillary Clinton (lawyer First Lady 8 years sectary state senator knows all the world leaders well well versed in the way government works female would have broken the glass ceiling) that’s just for starters think of what could have been if we had avoided the trump debacle naaa back to the topic at hand the republicans need to collectively stand up to trump jail the guy the best they can hope for is a comeback after a few election cycles their base is tribal they will still vote Republican

Tug  You are so in the tank with the Marxist/Socialist Democrats that you are delusional.  Jack Smith comes up with these phony charges and you get all giddy.  Shame to be so blind.

And another MAGA believer who has no idea what marxist or socialist means. Because if you did, you would never equate democrats with either one. But at least you have your MAGA lingo down pat.

Oh I dunno. A stint as VP must be quite an interesting experience as long as you have a bit of spine and can avoid getting pulled into the swamp. There's not much to the job anyway. Bit of a jolly really.

I find Pence an extremely distasteful character with bizarre and perverse christianist beliefs. But they are his principles and he lives by them, and consequently he emerges from 4 years as the Trumpf VP pretty much untarnished.

Not phony charges at all. Maybe you should read this:

An off-topic post quoting an unapproved source has been removed.  It should also be noted that 95% of voters in DC are NOT Democrat.  That number is around the 75% mark.

Witness intimidation, hours after being warned by a Federal Judge not to engage in witness intimidation.

Methinks Trump is deliberately trying to get himself thrown in the slammer and paint himself as a martyr.

It’s right out of Cult Leader 101 and would play well to his supporters, foreign and domestic, who are wedded to self indulgence in grievance politics.

Please identify what you consider phony about the charges Trump is facing.

What has Trump ever done that was patriotic?  Don't cop out with bland MAGA generalities, give us some specifics.

Congratulations:  You have posted one of the most delusional cult posts possible.

You must really be sure of your sources to say charges are all phony when all of the witnessess who have testified are republicans hired and appointed by trump himself....once again the incompetent democrats have managed to convince die hard republicans to lie as to what they saw and heard trump do firsthand....not to mention those same incompetent dems managed to rig an election in 7 states and leave not a shred of evidence behind for 60 court cases, investigation after investigation, recount after recount, mostly all done by republicans or people hired by trump to investigate.  You are obviously privy to some very well kept secrets that you have found.  Have a glass of kool aide.
